The US government has officially said that the DNC emails posted on wikileaks and other sites are done by Russia's senior-most officials, and are meant to influence the US election. If indeed so, doesn't mean wikileak has any coordination with Russia, but that they are being used as a propaganda tool. It shouldn't be any surprise that Russia would want to influence election in the US and elsewhere in the world as part of their strategy to strengthen their influence. http://www.newsweek.com/vladimir-pu...-clinton-donald-trump-benghazi-sputnik-508635
When all else fails blame Russia. The DNC keeps embarrassing themselves with all the Russian conspiracies
This is exactly what I'd expect the Russian cyber-troll to say. You really should work harder on disguising yourself.
Even a blind squirrel finds his nuts every so often. Trump truly is trying to bring back McCarthyism. The problem is that we view that badly in the US. I know In Russia, you might have learned it differently, but here, we don't like smearing all Muslims as terrorists, or immigrants as rapists and drug dealers and such. Perhaps you should communicate to leadership that this strategy is not nearly as effective here as it is in the motherland.
Even Mike Pence is saying that Russia is trying to influence the US elections. As far as Wikileaks I will admit this is pure speculation on my part but I do continue to find their timing and what they are releasing very questionable. As others have noted Assange has a personal vendetta against the Clintons but has tried to portray himself and Wikileaks as being above politics and about transparency and holding people to acccount. Consider we have a divided government why then haven't they exposed RNC emails? Is the RNC really that much so more secure or hackers just not interested in going after the RNC?
Even though it's probably true that Russia is behind the hacks, why is that a defense? Sorry honey that this woman sent you photos of me having an affair, but instead of being mad at me cheating shouldn't you focus on her motives for showing you the picture?
I agree with this - if there was anything damning in the emails. But has there really been anything outside of the norm here? When people point to things like a DNC official liked Hillary more, is that really breaking news? If you looked in the RNC emails, I'm sure there'd be many that didn't like Trump too or things like that. There's nothing that's been released that really seems like a big deal in context of thousands of emails and individual opinions (at least that I've seen).
How is it a conspiracy when the Justice department and CIA both say it was Russians who hacked the DNC?
Then stick to that. When I see Clinton reps on tv attacking Russia instead of arguing whether the email matters I cringe.
Hillary Clinton, a woman who is so competent she controls the Justice Department and CIA but not competent enough to handle email servers. Which on is it Trumpsters?
I'm not sure what they are to say exactly. It *is* a cyber-attack by Russia on the US in an attempt to influence US elections. That seems like a story worth bringing attention to, no? I don't know what else they are to say, outside of "show me which email is horrible?" which just gets into a ridiculous game of looking at individual emails or sentences out of context. That ends poorly for anyone on the Clinton side. It would be like going through any of our thousands of posts here and taking individual posts or sentences out of context and saying "defend this!". Trying to explain all the context is a fool's errand in a soundbite world, in part because no one cares, and in part because you probably don't even remember it in every case.
Quote me the parts of the emails and transcripts that you are angered about with context. To any rational person, the leaked transcripts and emails shows a politician who takes her time learning nuanced information and using rational and logic to come to conclusions. It's amazing how this translates to 'most corrupt politician of all time'. Let's have all of Trump's and his campaign manger's emails leaked. It'll probably be a bunch of 'locker room talk' AMIRTE?
I was referring to Cuomo claiming privileged gatekeeper status to examine these emails, and laws that don't apply to his kind, but do to us little people
These emails seem to confirm everyone's suspicions about Hillary. They don't break any new ground. People have always believed she was a political animal that doesn't mind being dishonest to accomplish her political goals. There isn't really anything new here.
There is a lot to this. First we know that the DNC e-mails were hacked by the Russians. The only reason it matters is that it shows the intent of the hack and motives are from a foreign country that (to put it bluntly) is our enemy. The hacks by foreign entities need to stop, there needs to be a greater emphasis on security at the highest levels. It isn't defensible. What do the Russians/Chinese know that they have chosen not to leak? Second, the e-mails were released by Wikileaks. We don't even know how accurate the e-mails are. It is very easy to modify or change e-mails are release them through an intermediary like Wikileaks and claim they are accurate. This point has nothing to do with party politics, the same would apply to any leaks. Before someone says this isn't likely, consider the motivation of the source (Russia) and the fact that we already know that at least one Podesta e-mail released was changed by the Russians. Concerning the content of the leaked e-mails (so far), there is nothing earth shattering. Perhaps I am jaded, but it is what I would expect from any long term, high level politician. What I find troubling about this election is that Americans are actually putting party affiliation over policy or what is best for American security. The same people that wanted the Cold War and demanded The War of Terror now are supporting the leaking of private documents by an enemy of the United States to jeopardize security and influence an election.
