HardenTime's post made me want to go back to previous weeks to see if the Texans scouted at any other games. Looks like they did:

For all we know they could be there to see Peter Kalambayi. Or the 310-pound McGlinchey.

Clearly you haven't read much of your Texans analysis lately.....

Anyway, if you think that a 60% career completion percentage and struggling to top 3k passing yards in a season would be considered acceptable today.....well it goes right along with the rest of your recent football hot takes. McNair would be a fringe NFL starter today and fans like you would see him as a sign of your team's infinite mediocrity. 3 QBs in the NFL this season have passed for fewer yards per game than McNair averaged for his career.....Tyrod Taylor, Blaine Gabbert, and Cody Kessler. Think about that for a while.

blaming the o-line wont do much when the qb we have ranked almost dead last by pff. Nick Saban changed with the times, as did Jerry Jones, maybe Bob McNair has finally given in. kizer will be a nice addition to the texans

C'mon clearly the Texans don't need O linemen, all they need is a black QB, any black QB and they'll be set for life

I kind of disagree that he's open there, he's got a guy underneath and a guy over the top. So instead of going to the guy in bracketed coverage, he goes to the guy who is actually open and it gains a first down. Now sure, a perfect throw might make it to Nuk, but it would be an unnecessarily dangerous decision.

There's plenty of questionable throws that Brock has made, this isn't one of them. This is actually a smart decision.

I was mostly curious what the market would be on those QBs and what we would have to give up. Given that the Chargers or Lions really won't be going anywhere soon, what would they want to move on. Just feel given those teams' current state and the state the last several seasons, it would warrant a look.

I still disagree that "He is wiiiiiiide open for an easy fifteen yard gain", with the guy underneath it couldn't be a bullet pass or it would be intercepted by that guy and with the safety over the top it couldn't have too much arc on it or he'll have time to intercept it or be able to rip it out of Nuk's hands after he catches it. He's thrown interceptions this season going for plays like that. Instead he took the safe route that gave him an easy first down. That's the right call in that situation. The "wiiiiiiiiide open" player was Prosch and when you can get an easy first down, why not take that?

Whoever is doing this play analysis doesn't seem to understand that, and they really really should, so it's kind of hard to take the rest seriously. The failure to see that he made the right call on that one takes away from their credibility whoever they are.

In the NFL that is about as wide open as you can get short of having a CB fall down. If you are a QB that is worth anything in the NFL, you make that throw accurately 10/10 times. You must have very low expectations of Brock.

    So ugly and pathetic

Yes the offense can still gel but defenses can also continue adjusting

When you have a guy underneath within 5 yards and a guy over the top closing fast within 8 yards, there's not much room for error on that throw. NFL caliber DB's can close that kind of space in an instant......so you either go with the risky pass that could end up as another interception even without Nuk causing it again or you go with the wide open guy that gives you a first down.

Smart NFL QB's take the easy first down over trying to gamble on 10 extra yards.

Seriously, is this the level of analysis that passes as quality these days? I get that it's ignorant hot take week but damn.
