I know Matt tends to be very venomous, but the general point of how trump has broken the republican party is very on point.

"Venomous" isn't doing Matt Taibbi justice...here or in anything else he's written over the last few years...but he's been one of my favorite reputable journalists (not a long list in this day and age, to be sure, but still...)...for a long time now...

There's a 538 editorial about how trump win the primaries because he represented the Republican party the best.

Thanks a ****load Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich.

This is an excellent article. The inherent problem with it is that the Trumpanzees described within it are such proponents of anti-intellectualism that reading anything more than a tweet is beyond their daily scope.

The issues with the structure of our politcs are so deep now that I just don't see how they get fixed. While Republicans have gone off the deep end in racism, xenophobia, and conspiracy theories the Democrats have steered towards becoming the corporate big business Republicans of the 80's and 90's. It's an unhealthy pattern for the American idea of democracy.

I agree. We only have to look at the Congress under Obama's terms to see how the GOP devolved.

Trump's fury about ISIS and support of Russia is crazy. Trump has been applauding Russia for fighting ISIS. I just watched a news piece talking about how Russia completed their air defense system in Syria.

Why would they need an air defense system in Syria? ISIS doesn't have any air threat. That air defense system might make it harder for the U.S. to give air support to wipe out ISIS or the criminal dictator Assad.

Russia has been funding right wing candidates across the globe. It would not surprise me if Russia had communicated to Trump they would support his candidacy and they have some dialogue going on.

This is how dumb your candidate is:

While Donald Trump was speaking at a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Monday night, one of his female supporters needed medical assistance. While some in the audience tried to help the woman, Trump yelled, “get ’em out” because he thought she was a protester.

Noah Gray of CNN tweeted, ‘Crowd tried to get Trump’s attention, shouting MEDICAL and pointing. Trump thought it was a protest and kept saying “get em out”‘

You know who did come to assist the woman? The media. You know, the journalists that Trump and his supporters think are his enemies.

Stephen Samaniego of CNN tweeted, “Woman being wheeled out at Trump rally. Media came to her aid and got her help.”

So, next time you say how bad the media, you can kindly shut your f*****g mouth.
