What's the point already? We've heard enough from both candidates, voting is already underway in many states, pretty much seems to be another 90 minutes of opportunity for Trump to just defile himself, the office of the Presidency, the U.S. political process, and his opponent - what is the point? If I'm Hillary I just cancel it. Or even better, I'd stage my own debate and invite Gary Johnson. Burn.
I'm sure if any Republicans running for office had a say, there wouldn't be. All it can do is hurt them even more.
The process should be standard. Trump is already doing damage to the entire electoral process by saying it is rigged. Also he says the polls are rigged, the news is rigged. He's convincing some Americans that our electoral process is a joke. Well, does he or any other Chumper have an idea for a better electoral process? He's doing damage with no alternative proposal. It's strictly destruction to a core American democratic process. Don't give him more excuses to delude his troop of numbskulls.
No way Clinton would or should cancel this debate. But if she truly wants to send him packing, it's the simplest strategy. Let him attack, attack, attack. Every response should be, "I'm not going to use this valuable debate time on personal attacks" (because she can't say, "I'm not going to resort to personal attacks" due to her ads). I want to discuss the issues important to our country." Every time he says something, she should calmly say, "He's wrong." No getting angry at him, no calling him out for misogyny, and absolutely no personal attacks. This is a "Clinton is up by 25 points with 6 minutes left" and it is most definitely a run-out-the-clock situation.
What dandorotik says above. And Trump will go full out. Spittle will fly. All she has to do is look calm, controlled. And then the campaign runs a commercial right after the debate about how unstable Trump is.
This is pretty much waht she did on Sunday, but the point I guess is why even bother to force her to sit through it again for democracy/the political process/tradition when Trump (and his Russian allies, among others) basically wants to destroy both of those two things and delegitimize America. Basically, it's bad for America and helps no one, other than Trump's eventual loss excuse-making brand biulding exercise. F that.
No way. Chumpers would be screaming bloody murder. They will be screaming bloody murder after they lose the election; that's a lock. Remember that one poster a couple months ago who said if Hillary wins the only thing he's gonna have for millennials is a bullet to the head?
Hillary shouldn't cancel. Instead, let Trump speak for an hour and a half. It's called the run out the clock situation and it's the easiest thing she can do right now.
Trump also included an apparent insult to Natasha Stoynoff, the woman from People Magazine in which she alleged that she had been physically attacked by Trump at Mar-A-Lago while she was on assignment in December 2005 writing a profile of his first anniversary with his wife, Melania. "Take a look, you take a look, look at her, look at her words -- you tell me what you think. I don't think so," Trump said at his rally. You see? Trump buries himself with his own words. Think about this one, RocketsLegend (yes, I'm back to addressing him- I just feel too bad for himm). If you can't see what is extremely problematic with his comment, then you are truly clueless.
It should go on. I'm all in on the entertainment factor. 90 more minutes for Trump to embarrass all the Trumpanzees who support him and all Republicans in general. They look even more foolish for electing this doofus as their representative. We may never get to see a Trump comedy on a national stage again.
No, there needs to be a third debate. It is very possible Trump goes all in against the Republican establishment.
I think it's in Clinton's interest to give Trump as much rope as possible. The more he says regrettable things and the more he undermines the integrity of the electoral process instead of trying to compete within it, the more the Trump turnout will be depressed. The loosest incremental Trump voters will not feel so enthusiastic about showing up to vote at all. Since those Trump voters would likelier be voting for Republicans down ballot, maximizing the shame for Trump voters will translate into more victories for Senator and other positions. Clinton has this in the bag, but she'll still have a Republican House to work with and maybe a Senate too. This isn't the time to play to avoid losing. She should try to stomp Trump as much as possible because it'll have an impact on all the other races -- and she needs those victories to be effective in office.
Just cancel it. Trump is trying to destroy our political process by acting like a buffoon and lying every other time he opens his mouth. We've seen enough.
It shouldn't be canceled. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if trump backs out, though. But others are right. Clinton should just let him talk.
It shouldn't be cancelled unless Trump himself chickens out. Why? Because if it were, Trump and his crazy followers would claim it was some sort of conspiracy and that he would have won, "If only we had had that 3rd debate!" Putting that aside, a 3rd debate will do Trump more harm than good, so I simply don't give a damn.
