They are not going to cut Prigioni. He was brought in because he's a veteran point guard who is very good running the pick and roll... which is a staple of Mike D'Antoni's offense.

Onuaku isn't getting cut. They'll send him to the Vipers but he is going to be on the Rockets' roster.

    Everyone else is fair game.

Did that Chinese reporter introduce himself as "Kay from Clutch"? Sounded strange.

I would not take that bet if you're basing it on pre-season where all we've done is beat a non-NBA team, an unprepared Knicks team who admitted they had no plan and looked out of shape and the Pelicans who will be a lottery team because they only have Davis and no one else who can score or play defense. I mean THEY SIGNED TERRENCE JONES!

Facts are facts. Any average team would look great with that schedule. We have yet to play a team that tests our defense and live by the 3 die by it.

Okay so you don't think the team is better than last year or you think competition has improved around the Western Conference. The Houston Rockets won 41 games last year. I think this team will have a chance in every game they are healthy with their dynamic offense highlighted by strong 3 point shooting.

I hear you but you honestly think MDA will go with Prigs over young shooting and athleticism. I could honestly see them keeping Payton over Prigs because he has a larger upside

Yes, I see MDA going with Prigioni. D'Antoni is not going to have an undrafted rookie who hasn't even done anything especially impressive in preseason play over a proven veteran like Prigioni. That's crazy talk.

Prigioni is the back-up PG. D'Antoni will play Harden, Beverley, and sometimes Gordon at point. Prigioni will get some back-up minutes at point. And someone like Payton or Ennis or whoever will fill in spot minutes here and there.

Prigioni for sure will be playing a back-up role, while someone like Payton or Ennis will be lucky to get on the floor here and there.

I think defense and rebounding wins games and we lost a bit of that with Dwight. We don't know how Capela and Anderson will hold up, but I see them getting out rebounded very easily. You know the famous stretches where the Rockets can't grab a rebound? It's a staple to the organization. Ryan Anderson will do wonders for both teams offenses. Josh Smith was also a capable defender and Beasley was instant offense.

Capela said it himself, he gets tired. Can he last an NBA season at the hardest position in basketball? Can NeNe? One goes down and then who do we play?

And yes, the NBA will be tougher this year. Teams are getting smarter and more talented.

Bobby is a chucker and this way we will never get to see Payton's PG skills. They wll both be cut for sure, Ennis is not a PG but guaranteed money...Nanu also staying because of guaranteed money so Taylor & Wiltjer will get cut probably.

Bobby and Taylor almost assuredly will be cut and likely play with the Vipers. Payton and Nanu will both go to RGV.

How does that work with the roster spots, when Payton and Nanu get sent down do they still count on the main roster?

If not cut, they remain on Rockets roster (i.e. they count against the 15 roster spots), but are assigned to the Vipers. Other NBA teams can't touch them.

If cut, they do not count against Rockets roster, but Vipers get D-League rights. However, D-League rights don't prevent an NBA team from signing them and playing them in the NBA.

So no decision on Payton yet? Nanu staying I reckon. I want us to keep Wiltjer, but guaranteed money and our PG situation is not good so likely keeping Ennis.
