So is Hopkins introducing religion into Westworld now and himself as their creator?

I didn't really get that impression but they didn't really give you much insight into what his plan is.

Does anybody else think that the child host he met was a version of himself? I though their conversation and the fact there were kind of dress alike pointed to that possibility.....or at least a child he might have lost......

That is pretty much how I saw it too. I thought it was an earlier version of himself the way the conversation went. I still stand behind my earlier spoilered post about Hopkins. this doesn't confirm anything but it does make it seem at least plausible.

Why is Teddy Love programmed to be in Love? One thing I thought odd was that the Cowboy Host played by Marsden always falls in love with Delores. Why would that be? How does that provide entertainment to the guests. And then her Dad hates him. Why is that? He seems like a good guy. Is this somehow a replication of the owners sin? Or related to a sin? Or his life. What is going on there with dark and light tones of that situation.

This show is worth watching twice or more for clues.

Interesting that he was having conversations with the the decommissioned hosts down in the sub level basement that are not updated. They are imperfect. I don't know exactly what they were talking about, as it was hard to hear, but that was obviously significant.

And when Mr. rose was decommissioned, he was right there talking to him. Interesting that the contaminated host basically told him "he was in a prison of his own sins."

The world is what he "could be". So it does seem like he's trying to investigate what his life could have been, in-spite of his past transgressions.

He likes mistakes. He likes imperfection. His code adds imperfection. And he thinks that is humanity. ( Benard the programmer seems to like perfection, but somehow is tied to the owner tightly despite this. ).

I like the thought of it being a younger version of himself for sure. Bernard the Programmer, who seeks perfection, lost a son apparently. He wishes he could forget that loss. So there could be a connection there.

Love the show....damn captivating, and has us guessing on what could be going on.

That scene where the character woke herself up from her nightmare with her 1 2 3 , and was on the operating table.....crazy.

I'm really liking this series. It's like the Matrix meets Inception meets iRobot.

Also, did anyone see the picture of Hillary with the fly on her face??! She's a host robot! :D

iRobot and Matrix links are obvious but I fail to see the Inception link? You just mean the world isn't real theme?

It was suggested in the dialogue that the host robots think the park is a dream, and their reality is the lab.

Then there is the whole insertion of code thing that could be resulting in the dream sequences or remembering the past.

Think that makes it inception like from the host perspective. I definitely did get an inception vibe from the show as well, which is to say it wants you think about what is real and what isn't, and how deep does the rabbit's bad foot stick itself into the hole.

Put me down for not getting the comparison to either Matrix or Inception, since these are physical Androids in a physical world.

They aren't in a lab, dreaming. Or sitting in a chair projecting in a Virtual World.

To me, that's like theorizing similarities to Total Recall by saying the Guests aren't really there, but in a vacation dream, sitting in a chair in a lab.

There are better comparisons than Matrix/Inception, no?

Yeah I'm hooked on this as well. Wasn't 100% in after ep 1, but now I am after ep 2.
Just wonder if the androids are deleting their cached memory when they're asked to, especially considering some of them are having other memories or flash backs.

popular theory is that William and The Man in Black are the same person shown in alternate timelines

The fact that the guests can't be harmed takes the suspense out of much of the action. I imagine this will change soon.

like The Man in Black isn't demonstrating any gaming skills because he has invincibility (he gets shot alot). Other than perhaps puzzle-solving skills.

If so, then go to the 36:20 mark of Ep 2, and see how Management is watching the MiB and referring to him as a Guest. If that is William in a different timeline, then management hasn't aged any, or William must be in disguise.

That's one of those theories which identifies the viewers who live for guessing huge plot twists over working within what the show is consistently reinforcing -- MiB is a VIP Guest of many years.

I don't think we've seen management interact with anything happening with William, so his scenes could be in the past while MiB scenes are present day.

No. William interrogated Delores' Daddy with management around. (The Head of Security woman has to rush in and protect William from Daddy grabbing him.) In fact, the guy who said "That guest can do anything he wants" when referring to MiB at 36:20 mark of Ep 2, is interrogating Delores about her Daddy at the same time William is interrogating the father. Again, he hasn't aged.

So, is the theory saying not much time has passed? Or is it saying a lot of time has passed.

Looks like there is absolutely no reason to think there is a time shift happening in this show. But, who knows....some Big Plot Twist could happen, or more likely, popular internet theories rely on Big Plot Twists so fabricate them out of thin air.

    @Commodore

Further, Ep 1 pins down Delores getting the reverie update prior to MiB raping her. Thus, MiB and William are in the exact same time....since William wrote the code, and Delores was updated to it prior to MiB raping her while the Daddy is murdered at his feet. Then Father is interrogated by William after the rape.

Everything in the show is in the Time Frame of the Reverie Code Update. MiB is bookended in that Time Frame by the rape and interrogations after.

    Theory Debunked 100%
