Just like he ruined team chemistry after rescinded trade? He sure was grumpy and toxic in the GSW series, he almost punched Draymond, had hold me back moment. You're right I suppose.
Lol, how can you even say such thing about DMo? He wouldn't impact team chemistry for worse, he would be mad at Morey, or his agent, but not on his teammates or coaches.

Rockets have yet to play a playoffs team and it's only a preseason. Are you kiddin me? All greats have short memories, but didn't know this applies to fans too :D DMo is not that bad of a player people think and Rockets aren't that deep in the front court.

Who thinks that Montrezl playing clutch minutes with starters vs Pelicans is a sign DMo is not getting signed any time soon?

Dmo would fit in well with this squad though

As antsy as we are, I imagine Dmo is exponentially so.
Can you picture him regretting not being there in China to hang out with the guys or missing out on the summer Miami chemistry sessions?
Unless he is drastically being underpaid, which I doubt given Morey's track record, I would put the blame more on DMo and BJ on this one.
Bev, Ariza, Nene, Brewer all took less than their max value to be in Hou.

Did they? Even if so, every case is different. And if someone takes less than he can, it's for other reasons. Such as playing time to boost their value. All these players also have something in common - Rockets didn't trade them away.

But how can he really be taking less when no other team has offered him anything? Only team we know for act that has offered him any sort of deal is the rockets.

I recall BJ saying that he won't bet against himself, suggesting that the Rockets have provided the highest offer or no other team has provided the highest offer. Unfortunately for D-Mo and his agent, this contract is outside the range that they have been considering as acceptable for their perceived value of D-Mo's talents and offerings. I wouldn't really put much stock over some posters' insistence of D-Mo being healthy and recovered and his back surgery being minor. First of all, Detroit rescinded a trade for D-Mo with their 1st rounder. Some posters might insist this is a farce, but they are just speculating. They have no inkling of knowledge about what actually went / goes on in Detroit's front office decision making. Trades are not rescinded lightly. If they thought D-Mo would be great, they would have kept the trade. Personally, I am just playing a waiting game here. Ideally speaking, in a vacuum I rather we have D-Mo than not have him. Realistically speaking, it has to be a team friendly contract at a low cost until he proves he has moved on and recovered from his back injury. I am thinking 1 year + TO in the ballpark of $3-4M, though I wouldn't be surprised at all if the contract goes up to $5-6M with a team offering after their big goes down and Morey matching.

As I recall, his point was about the unfairness of RFA negotiations, and when the two are significantly far away in price, he wasn't go to name any new bid first. Instead, he said he gave the Rockets a deadline to come back with another offer. It was a bluff to suggest DMo would sign the QO, and it didn't work.

So, I took it as JB merely saying he wasn't going to blink first. I don't think it says anything about what the highest offer is, and who gave it, other than the Rockets current offer isn't high enough ... and that's the only information he intends to provide .

Like DD has been saying...it's poker.

Yes. He doesn't want to sign an offer sheet, get matched, and then dealt away in trade next summer to a team not of his choosing.

It is poker, but BJs bluff has been called. He had to take QO at last second if playing this game.

Why pay DMo more than min from moreys perspective now?

This is what happens when you let BJ Freaking Armstrong rep you. What a disaster. Hoping we sign him soon...

Clearly no other teams have interest...perhaps due to the back...so take a one year deal and bet on yourself

I can't help suspecting Morey did something dirty with that rescinded trade. Very reminiscent of the episode where he insisted Landry get his knee checked out right before he went into RFA.

If that is the case, don't expect this team to do much going forward. Psychology is an important part of winning. If you think the front office is full of snakes you won't give your best.

So every player BJ is representing is going through this same exact Thing?

And if it is clear that no team is interested due to the back injury, how is that BJ'S fault?

gotta think DMO is making a mistake. just watching the preseason roll on without skipping a beat means even less leverage for him.

dude just needs to sign then play for the next contract.

DMo needs to do what is best for DMo we all are saying "He needs to do this" no he doesn't....because what we want is what is good for the Rockets first, what Dmo wants is what is better for HIM first.

The two are not aligned right now - I am not sure what his play is here but blaming the agent is frankly silly - BJ works for DMO - ....DMO makes the final call.

So, whatever is going on, we just have to wait.
