19 of 42 might be our worst QB passing percentage ever.

I was so excited about this season and now I am really getting discouraged. I want to believe Brock will become the quarterback worth $70 million and our future. Yes, we played a fantastic defense today, but we have seen all the bad throws and interceptions week after week? Our defense couldn't keep our head afloat this week, and that is what has kept us afloat so far this year. Yes, at times Brock shows glimpses of being great, but so do a lot of bad quarterbacks. Is he bad? I have no idea yet, but he seems unsettled, scared, and unsure. The confidence he started out with, which was probably higher than his ability, was his biggest strength. That, and his leadership abilities people talk about. I just hope he doesn't become a man hiding from his own shadow, making poor decisions, and tallying up interceptions game after game. No matter what anyone says I find it really hard to believe Savage would have only completed 19 of 42 passes, and probably Hoyer, Mallet, and Keenum wouldn't have done any worse. Who knows, but then I worry that maybe O'Brien and his coaching staff is the problem. Is this "complicated" offense a disaster for making quarterbacks better? Why do the same quarterbacks play better before and after we put them on our team? Who knows the real answer. Is it that we have never had a good enough offensive line for any quarterback to work with? Somehow I doubt that is the whole problem. Somehow I think if Hopkins and Fuller were on most of the other teams in this league they would be lighting up the scoreboard. Is it Osweiller, O'Brien, or bad route running? If only we could see the routes being run on TV, but usually we don't see the receivers to see if they were open unless the ball is thrown to them. It all baffles me. I went from disappointed to disgusted to "laughing" at how bad it got. Yes, I think it made me crazy for a moment. Such is the life of a Houston fan since the days of the Oilers. Maybe it will all turn around, and if we can beat our divisional opponents we will have turned it all around come playoff times. I sure hope so, because right now the blame game seems to be like playing pin the tail on the donkey. I want to believe, I really do. All I know is that the Rockets might be much more fun to watch this year, which is at least some joy for a Houston sports fan. This was such a disappointing weekend for a Cougars and Texans fan.

I was being sarcastic, but honestly don't remember seeing stats that bad since the first year of our franchise with a rookie.

Yeah, 6 of 25 in his second game tops this. But, that was the only game worse than this one by our worst quarterback ever. Who knows, maybe Brock will turn it around better than Carr did. A lot of the greats started out their first year pretty ugly.

That Steelers game in 02 wasn't pretty. Think carr passed for like 20 yds and won the game

Vikings D is great(killing everyone) do they get any credit or it's all on Brock?

My post was pretty clear that I don't know who to blame. Who knows really? Brock, O-Line, Coaching, "complicated offense" O'Brien runs, receivers not running the right routes, or simply good defense. I give the defense credit, but Brock was off, and has been really inconsistent so far this season. Next week is a big one for us! Let's hope he hits his mark.

It's all on Brock, as is the Texans defense allowing teams to score season highs in points 2 weeks in a row. It's all on Brock.

The 3rd down pass toward end of 1st qtr was awful and maybe that changes the entire game but down 14-0 before your 2nd series even starts is tough.

Yea but Brock didn't do anything to go down 14 and he also wasn't on kickoff coverage. I know QB play is important but so are the other phases. Team didn't even give him a chance to settle in.

Exactly and you can't build anything in one day. Patience is required or we can ruin him now and the next one and the next one. Become the Browns basically.

Doesnt matter if the defense gives up 500 points...its not a matter of wins or losses here. We're trying to get good QB play and we're not. We need help in a lot of areas, but those position players arent getting 70 million dollar deals to do their jobs. Out of all our players, Brock is probably the worst ROI on the team. We're getting replacement level play for average NFL QB money. That's not good.
