The fact that you're downplaying a 400 yard, 2 TD, 0 INT performance...after he did basically the exact same thing last week...is hilarious. You cant even admit that it's a decent game, lol.
Against the worst defense in the league.....and your team still scores the 2nd fewest points that awful defense has given up all season long. EVERYONE scores on the Colts at will.....well everyone but your boy Hoyer.
Luke Beggs over at Battelredblog.com accurately sums up the current state of the Texans: This was always going to be a tough game. No surprise that we lost it. I’d be surprised if there was at least one reasonable person out there who thought that this outcome wasn’t possible, if not probable. The issues that this game highlighted are big ones, but not ones that haven’t been visible for the past few weeks. The offense was catatonic. That’s been due to the offensive line’s struggles, offensive playcalling lacking any kind of adaption or creativity, and Brock Osweiler struggling to throw the ball accurately. The Bears and Titans games showed there was some semblance of offensive capability, but it’s been offset by teams game-planning better for the Texans’ offense and the Texans’ coaching staff just not having an answer to this. The only hope is that over the next few weeks the coaching staff finds a way to make this offense start working, or things are only going to get worse. The fate of their season rests on that last line - unless the coaching staff gets their collective act together, it really doesn't matter what their record in the AFC South will be because they will be looking at another one & done post season. Maybe that will be enough for many here but not for me. It'll just be more of the same old same old Oilers er,Texans.
The fact that Hoyer vs Brock is a legitimate argument at this stage in the season means that the Brock deal was a complete bust. We didn't pay to get Hoyer 2.0. We paid for a guy to be way better than hoyer.
I would argue that focuses too much on the offense and not enough on the defense. When your allegedly solid defense allows teams to score season highs in points in back to back weeks....that's a problem. This wasn't ever a game where you were expecting the Texas to score much so the defense had to do their job and hold the VIkings to 14-17 points total to even have a chance and they simply couldn't. The offense obviously has flaws too, but if the strength of this team (defense) stays as weak as it has been the last 3 games then games are going to be pretty rough to watch.
All of a sudden, the Colts are the WORST...lol. He outplayed Rivers then? Ok, I'd say that's decent. Im guessing you expect Brock to throw for 400 and no turnovers?
Sorry, 3rd worst defense heading into this week. I'm expecting the Texans to score at least 30, so yeah, if that doesn't happen then I'll be disappointed.
The defense isn't good without Watt. Joseph has gotten older and no Kareem. We also have no QB and can't run the ball. Coaching is suspect in all 3 phases.
The Vikings came into today giving up an average of 12.5 points a game and they gave up 13, but could have easily been more if Noodle Leg Novak made a 51 yard FG and they called the PI when Fuller was tackled in the end zone with the ball in the air. The Vikings came into today averaging 22 points per game and they scored 31
The defense certainly has taken a step back now that they have one fewer pass rusher and the secondary is trash so I agree with you there, but the biggest problems the offense has is the O line being trash, Will Fuller always dropping at least one pass a game that is perfectly thrown, Osweiler's happy feet, Osweiler throwing at least one bone headed pass per game, very little running game partly due to the trash O line.
It's a crap shoot. If Osweiller doesn't throw pics, and throws with a bit of accuracy then maybe we can score 30. That is, if our receivers don't drop the balls like they were doing today. I would love to see a shootout myself, and Luck is always good for an interception himself, so you never know about the outcome. Let's hope we do this!!!!!! This will be a huge win!
Well the O line should be able to hold against the Colts lack of pass rush so the QB play should be better. The Colts have no secondary so WR's should be able to get open easier. Will Fuller will still drop passes, but hopefully they won't matter as much. The Colts have no run D so Miller should be able to get going.
Vikings defense came into today surrendering 306 yards of offense... Texans got 214. Texans lone TD was during garbage-time.
So the Texans put up more points than the Vikings average while gaining fewer yards? Man if games were won by yards gained that would be really depressing. Just like Hoyer fans are rubbing one out to their boy putting up empty yards while not scoring.
