I was thinking about that this morning. What is best moment in team history? A first round playoff win? Beating Cowboys in franchise opener?
That is a nice excuse, but when they are giving up 17 points on the first 4 possessions....it's not the offense. That excuse is better when a defense does well at first but is eventually worn down over time. Given that the defense was garbage out of the gate, it doesn't hold up.
He was the best example of the trash this franchise has trotted out at QB. Was he very good, no. Whenever there was any pressure or chance to step up he wilted. It's like they're scared to death of making the David Carr mistake ever again so instead they keep making the Matt Schaub mistake year after year. Whatever it is, it's not worth my attention.
Probably the first playoff win. That said, they've won the division 3 of the past 5 seasons.....so it's not as bad as some fans seem to think.
14 years of let down after let down. The pattern is set. Get used to it! OR quit watching. I DVRed this game and checked the score and it was 14-0. Knew the game was over right then. Saved 3 hours of my life and did something else.
That year we barely lost to Baltimore in the second round with the TJ Yates and Jacoby fumbling Not a single moment but that was a super bowl caliber team
I agree. That first playoff win would be my pick too. It's not bad. It's just not particularly good given context of division. Theyre good enough to win this division that requires you to be just better than average to do so.
what was the greatest oiler moment, 16 seasons after the AFC championship appearance? I blame the city's dirtiness for the football miscues. best wishes, CP25
I'd love to see Favre or Peyton signed for the rest of the season with Brock relegated to back up duties purely for the LOLs.
Ah, so you're a front runner? Only winning the championship is success? No problem, there's room for all kinds of fans. Hopefully one day the weather will be fair enough for your taste.
The offense scored 0 points their 4 possessions... and saw the endzone once the entire game... they're not innocent.
No one suggested they were. The offense was beat up by arguably the best defense in football. It was a really long day especially since the defense didn't show up. The only real chance the Texans had was if they held the Vikings to 14 points or less and I said as much before the game started. Unfortunately the defense was terrible and they let the Vikings move the ball at will all game long. You simply can't expect to score that much against a defense like the Vikings have....especially at their house.
McNair loves fans like you. Keep telling Uncle Bob that he's doing a great job Bobby! Keep battle fighting!
5 games in, and I think we can agree that Brock is no better or worse than Fitzy or Hoyer - the offense just continues to run in mud. Sloppy sloppy sloppy. I'd love to see what the offense can do with a different coach calling the plays, but I expect McNair will hang on to B'OB out of weird loyalty 1-2 years too long. If Brock continues with the 200/1/1 BS, we REALLY need to throw Savage in just to see what we have. Maybe he's awful, but we need to know. And we REALLY need to focus on drafting a QB this year. Look at Philly & Minny - gave up major picks for a QB, albeit with different goals for 2016, and the moves are paying huge dividends. 2017 Draft will be deep with good QB talent, and we need to capitalize. This is turning into the Rockets pre-Harden & post-Yao/T-Mac, and we're wasting an opportunity with a pretty good defense.
