People like CF over the NFL? There are a few good games here and there, but a lot of times there are two teams that shouldn't be playing each other and you end with 48-10 scores. Even the talent disparity between ranked teams is quite high.

What? Outside of Peyton Manning, what star QB from 3-4 years ago isn't around anymore? Can people really not name Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Big Ben, Cam Newton, Eli Manning, Andrew Luck, etc?

Quality of play is definitely worse in college FB than NFL, but it does lead to more crazy finishes. Same thing with NCAAB and March Madness.

College excitement might be better than NFL/NBA now, and I would have never sided with that until this year.

NFL has become a bunch of manufactured storylines, BS penalties, and poor QB play or good QBs stuck on teams with terrible management (Colts, Chargers, Saints, etc...)

NBA watchability was always for individual greatness, but now it's become a soap opera with KD going to GS. There's only two teams that could win it and really, you're rooting for GS to fail miserably hard or watch them obtain greatness.

I still enjoy all, but it's definitely harder to watch now (outside of your own teams) if you don't have something riding on the game (fantasy, DFS, gambling).

I used to be an NFL guy, way more than college. That being said, the College games have outclassed the NFL games by a wide margin this year. Tomorrow there's Aggies vs Vols, Bama Ark and Miami vs FSU.

The NFL has ONE intriguing matchup and that's Broncos vs Falcons. Yep. Seimien vs Ryan.

Still better than the NBA.....although I'm halfway interested to see how the new offense will be for the Rockets....

    NFL/CFB
    MLB
    F1 / NBA

I got NFL Redzone middle of last season. For those that are tired of all the commercials and stoppages of play, this is the way to go. I'm enjoying football more than ever. Before I got Redzone I was recording Texans games and started watching 30 to 45 minutes in....fast forward through commercials and other crap.

i consider both the nba and the nfl the same tier, both are somewhat rigged. But at least in the NFL they dont gift you awards, you have to earn it. As much as people hate Cam Newton he wont be robbed of an MVP he deserves, the NBA and NBA voters as a whole play favorites

I can't remember a season so devoid of storylines. I was downright bored last Sunday. I actually didn't even stick around to watch the ending of the early games on Redzone.

Something is lacking in the product this year. Hard to put a finger on. I've also found myself more entertained on Saturdays, both by English Premier League in the early morning, and then by College football in the afternoon and evening.

I hate some of the new rules they place about protecting the players.. every dam hit get called unnecessary or they always call a helmet to helmet.. they wanna play to get paid, let the mutha-fckrs get hit like they wanna get paid..

I don't think I've seen one good hit that makes me cringe this season..

Agreed. There are a lot of those types of games each week, but that's the point I was making about the sheer tonnage of games. Is Ohio State blowing out Rutgers? No problem, just flip over to one of the other 15 games showing on TV or one of the dozens you can stream online with things like Watch ESPN, Fox Sports Go, etc. Chances are one of them is going to be close and exciting. And you can do that exact same thing at any point during a college football Saturday, from 11 AM all the way to well after midnight.

not gay at all, the nfl is becoming a joke. People get tired of seeing a guy like Aaron Rodgers just heave the ball on a 3rd and FOREVER, and draw a DPI. Rodgers is averaging less than 210 yards passing this year because he manipulates the refs for spot flags, the nfl must have green bay doing well. That market makes the nfl tons of money going back to the favre days

One thing I noticed is that for some reason the announcers, and the even the teams, seem to think 3rd and 15 is impossible and "just don't make a mistake." I don't get that at all. Teams have become chicken. Throw the ball and let your wr's defend if necessary. You can do it.

Was talking about this with my son today. Just seems dull. As you say, hard to put a finger on it as to why. Way more entertained by the college game as of now; but I haven't always felt that way.

The NFL probably has made a few bad decisions that have been pointed out in previous posts. Fantasy football has masked their ratings for years. That hobby became more and more popular as the league became more boring.

This is the first time I have not played in 4 years, because of time constraints. So all I do is watch the Cowboys now. Otherwise I could truly not care less.
