You know, I think both of these songs, one from the 70s and one from the 80s, kinda have the same theme: Elvis Costello, "Oliver's Army" "If you're out of luck or out of work We could send you to Johannesburg" Bruce Springsteen, "Born in the USA" "Got in a little hometown jam So they put a rifle in my hand"
I think the political / protest song movement probably started with Woody Guthrie, carried through to Pete Seeger and Dylan, then you saw it in some of the British Invasion bands ("Revolution," "Sympathy for the Devil"), and then in the San Fran bands like Jefferson Airplane, but you also saw it in the R&B bands. To me, the earliest politically-driven R&B was Sly and the Family Stone- it wasn't outright condemn the government, but, you know, stuff like Stand. Then, of course, you had Gaye's What's Going On, Wonder's Living for the City and You Haven't Done Nothing (the latter was written directly about Nixon), and then of course as someone mentioned punk in the 70s. And let's not forget CCR- Fogerty had this way of writing protest songs that were more subtle- you know, like Who'll Stop The Rain was about Vietnam, and then Run Through The Jungle- and Fortunate Son was an obvious one. Heck, you'd have to do research on half the stuff The Clash sang about - Guns of Brixton, Spanish Bombs, The Call Up, Clampdown, etc. Same with Elvis Costello. Then in the 80s you got this Americana thing - like Scarecrow, Jackson Browne's Lives in the Balance, some of Warren Zevon's stuff, Nebraska and Born in the U.S.A., Bob Seger's Making Thunderbirds. Peter Gabriel's stuff was more about world situations, like Biko. But the U2-like bands also sang about politics- The Alarm's 68 Guns, Simple Minds' Oh Jungleland, and of course U2- Sunday Bloody Sunday, Seconds, Refugee.... Midnight Oil was also very heavy into politics... matter of fact the lead singer Peter Garrett I believe went on to become a senator in Australia. You had Beds Are Burning, The Dead Heart, and Put Down That Weapon. This group called The Call also had several songs that dealt with politics.
I'm trying to imagine a scenario where I would grab a woman by her genitalia. Umm... huh? I mean... it's like in that SNL parody, "Hillary, you have 2 minutes to respond." "That's OK, you can give my 2 minutes to Donald."
Nah he will get a job in the conservative industrial complex somewhere. They are always hiring - competence optional.
Trump is a ****ing alpha male! You pathetic low testosterone beta faggots wish you could get all the women Trump has gotten.
Trump already apologized for the comments! He is ashamed of using that language. He was married and tried to **** a married women! So alpha! He's gonna lose all the suburban women.
I knew some tapings of his were gonna surface sooner or later. The Democrates probably have even worse stuff on him that they're keeping under wraps right until election day.
It amuses me that people think being born rich and banging gold diggers while being rejected by women with class makes you an alpha
The Clinton's don't really have any grounds to stand on though in regards to the treatment of women. Bill Clinton has a sordid history of sexual assault and Hillary got a man off on a rape charge. I don't support Trump but it's funny seeing people getting so worked up over these things.
This just illustrates what a homophobic lowlife RocketsLegend is. If he had any kind of courage, he would use his real name for all to see rather than hiding behind his ClutchFans moniker. Coward.
