Matt Thomas didn't talk too much sport during his afternoon show but the chemistry he had with Ross V was deadly. That and the hungover, minimal sports knowledge callers on welfare checks was what made that show a nice listen.

He was just on In the Trenches. I found myself agreeing and laughing at a couple of his takes... ****....Am I a horrible person? I've never listened to him I just know he is not well liked. I'll probably give his show a shot on Monday. Just sucks that they got rid of Charlie.
I heard him with ND and Greg in the middle of the day, and I thought he was fine, funny, and nothing he said was offensive. He wasn't SHY, but there wasn't anything he said which was blatantly wrong or ignorant, and certainly nothing racist. I think I will allow myself to decide for myself, rather than be told what to think by everyone else. Maybe I won't like him, maybe I will. But I'll tell you one thing: I will not miss CP at all. Not at all.
I guess if you have never heard him then it could be understandable. There have been petitions to fire him at the last 2 stations he worked at though. We aren't just making this stuff up ha. Of course you should make your own decision but just remember, we tried to tell you.
I just can't trust anyone who considers themselves a true sports fan and not have a great deal of respect for Charlie. Encyclopedia of sports knowledge, incredibly insightful and an absolute realist. Not the most "entertaining" show but sometimes you just want to listen to intelligent sports talk for once. Damn shame.

Thank you for that information. I greatly appreciate it. That does not mean that it was what I hoped to hear, though! I really did not care for this guy back when he was a personality for 610. His act is pretty much the reason why I made the jump to 790 a while back. Hopefully he has toned it down a bit and isn't trying too hard anymore. Still, he's suddenly replacing one of my favorite Houston sports radio personalities, so he's already behind the 8-ball on a few levels. At least this change led me to discovering that Locked On Rockets podcast! I'm really enjoying that so far.
