Wherever Herman ends up (or doesn't end up) will be largely based on what control Herman has over the program. Herman has a negative opinion of most boosters, and has said at gatherings that he did not like the situation at his prior stops, watching how much influence that a few people exerted on the program from the outside.

Herman isn't a very flexible person.

How do we get Greg Ward Jr's next of kin. That's the bloodline we need to be working.

That's a pretty big characterization based on a few comments but I see what you're getting at.

But how much do you think Saban and Urban like dealing with boosters? Do you think Sumlin is lining up to shake hands with the same folks that wanted to can him 9 months ago? It comes with the territory but ya he'll want full control and think he gets it with whoever is offering, hopefully at least.

D'Eriq King? What about Kyle Allen, it'd be a different offense with Allen

They raised the goal to 100k (math didn't add up. 20k would've equaled .50 per shirt). It's almost at 20k with a few donors already giving 1k each. Herman challenged the fan base last year to fill the stadium and show some pride. This one way to do it.

So when they have those t-shirt outs for nba fans in the playoffs, they are shelling out 50k? Wow.

$20+ for parking, $8 beer, $10 for a hotdog, $80 for an upper deck seat playoff seat. That $50k for the t shirts is probably built into those prices somewhere.

Dan: Are you a fixer, keep moving type, or can you be stationary?

Tom: Oh I can be stationary. The moving part, especially since I'm 41, we have a 3 year old, I got a 12 year old daughter starting her in middle school, a 9 year old son. Moving as many times as we have, I think one point we moved 6 times in 10 years, so I think stationary always sounds better from a family point of view. Again, you also want to win championships, Dan. We all got into this business hopefully to change young men's lives in a positive way, and also to win and compete. You have to make sure if you're going to stay somewhere that you're given the resources and opportunity to win championships.

Dan: Can you win a National Championship at Houston?

Tom: I think this year, certainly. I think we've got as good of a team as anybody in the country for 3 hours any given Saturday.

That pretty much confirms it. It seems like he's made up his mind and is gone after this season.

Yeah, the fact that he specifically made it a point to say "THIS YEAR" does not bode well for Coog fans hoping he's going to stay.

Really? I took it as saying that his current team is set to potentially win right now....meaning he can win at UH.

You'll interpret it that way because you may be the only person that will be shocked if and when he bolts. I would say that it's likely at this point. Enjoy the ride.

Interesting Qb battle next summer. I'm sure both players were promised qb jobs. One of the main reasons King came here is because he was promised to be a qb. Allen probably signed here because he didn't like splitting time at A&M and figured he would be the man.

Let us not forget that Kyle Allen was once the top QB recruit in the nation. I think he comes in and lights it up. Doesn't play SEC defenses, has a year of practice underneath his belt, he was in a mess at A&M, getting benched overtime he threw a pick basically as if he were going to instantly come in and be Manziel 2.0 as a true freshman. He lights it up becomes a second to fourth round draft pick, King still gets 2 years at QB unless some one better comes along, the beauty of having King is that we can still play him at receiver/returner and he can still be a difference maker until his time under center comes.

LOL. So people actually listened to that interview and found a way to think it means he's leaving?

There is absolutely nothing Herman said in that interview triggering he is staying or leaving.

Let the process play out, see if UH ends up in the Big XII or not. At this point there is uncertainty concerning the future and he gave the only answer he honestly could.

Allen did not play well at TAMU, but it's obvious to me he can BALL. He has the tools to be a top 5 NCAA QB. Any promises made are off the table when Herman leaves.

I am going to take a guess and say UH moves down to #14 after that loss
