Dude, the agenda is not who is better individually any longer but who can perform his role on a team to the fullest. Harden has been the No 1 for years and had mixed results in the playoffs. Klay is one of the best 2nd options on a team. Klay is a shooter and Harden goes to the line and has more weapons but he also makes the team more dependent on him.
Well....obviously, right? The Warriors talent is far better. Of course the Rockets depend on Harden more. Put Harden on a more talented team and that team is less dependent on him.
In other words - "this is the only scenario where we can argue that Klay is better, so let's focus on that."
And who can sustain or get better when they reach age 28 and beyond. Shooting will never be a problem for Thompson. Good thing I am not a huge fan of either (have to be on Harden's side for now) because both lack something fundamental.
Kobe Bryant and Manu Ginobili played into their late 30's.. and they have the same, stamina, and skillset as harden, no reason why harden cant play well into his late 30's

Harden has a pretty versatile offensive game, and a shot that is mediocre at worst. The euro step and finishing ability aren't going to magically disappear at age 30. Again, this is coming from someone who isn't Harden's biggest fan, but objectively he has one of the most well rounded offensive games in the NBA today. Klay will decline faster than Harden. Heaving up threes behind screens is his game. The ability to run full throttle around screens and make constant cuts will diminish. Plus, if he ever loses Green (already lost Bogut) he will have a lot less goonery to benefit from.
He's been a PG the moment he joined the Rockets. Klay simply lacks attributes to the game that Harden has and that gives James the edge.
I'm going to keep saying this until people understand. He's always been our pg but his position has NOT changed. I'm sure someone will rip out the 'positionless' line but the matter of the fact is he has not changed his listed position of SG to PG. Please understand this. Its not that hard. LeBron plays point for the Cavs. Hes still a SF.
so i just bought nba 2k17, and somehow klay and harden have the same 2k ratings.. wtf how is this possible klay thompson is OVERRATED, big time. and harden is super underrated.
Hardens skill set is light years better.they are two different players with two totally different styles. Harden is a multi skilled offensive monster who can do it all whilst Klay is a great off the ball mover with a deadly catch and shoot game. No offense to the OP, but what a silly comparison
Klay is better at catch-and-shooting, spot shooting, and defending. Harden is better at everything else. Harden is the better player.
Ryan Anderson is better at being a stretch 4 than Harden is at being a number 1 option, therefor, Anderson is better.
Harden is better overall but there are one hole or two holes in his game that Klay seems to be absolutely better at. Mainly shooting and being ok with the No. 2, now No. 3spot on a team, deferring to potentially win big in the postseason, moving without the ball and so on.
Well...sure. You can also say this phrase about literally any two players across the entire NBA. Also...not sure what you mean by Klay Thompson "deferring" or moving without the ball, as those are primarily coaching based.
