Well Kalu doesn't speak for me and I say Innes and his ilk are trash. A divider not a problem solver, makes things worse.
Hopefully 610... I'm torn here. Mudd is a very good friend of mine and I'm happy he's finally getting his own show.....but with Innis? I know they are good friends off the air and he tells me that Innis is nothing like his on-air persona in real life....but his on-air persona is what we have to listen to. I'm also afraid Mudd will feel like he has to sink down to his level and that will be very disappointing. And Charlie....I've been listening to him since his days with Russ Small on 740. I'm talking decades. Can't believe he's gone.
Not arguing with you there. I sure won't be listening and the sooner he fails and gets fired again, the better. Josh likes being controversial if it gets attention and makes people listen. I just hope they don't take the bait.
Charlie committed the cardinal sin of entertainment, and he got away with it for a long time. He was boring. In entertainment, you have to be ANYTHING but boring. Even a racist hack that has gotten himself run out of multiple jobs isn't boring, so he gets hired.
Well, since everyone who hates him tends to tune in and listen to all the stuff he says so they can get angry, it's a coup for 790. Remember - if everyone's talking about them (even if it's just b****ing) they win.
maybe charlie can go back with rich. that was the only time i could stand rich honestly. and charlie wasn't solo so at least for me he was more enjoyable than when he went solo.
Someone cry to Quanell X, he'll do something dumb (maybe) and give 790 problems they never dreamed of, and me, I'll be entertained. Title the email to him something like, "Astros/UH radio hires known racist" Let me know when it's done so I can lulz.
Lets get all the SJWs fired up, we can use them for our entertainment and get rid of Innes. Win win I say!
Sports radio in this town is an absolute joke. Looks like the Fuccbois won, and all we're going to get from now on is HOT TAKE RADIO......
Charlie's too old hat at this point. He doesn't tweet constantly. Most of his callers are over 50 and want to talk about the Astros. He's not caller-friendly because he's intimidating with his knowledge and he will most likely cut you off mid-sentence. He's only drifting further away from the 21-49 male demo. I can see why they would make the move. That being said, it is pretty shitty for I-heart to clean out his locker for him like this.
Yeah, Tweet him or whatever y'all do. At the very least call Innes and ask him what kind of negro Sean Jones is.
Twitter. One reason I hate the guy with Sean Jones is all he talks about is some dumb tweet or argument he is having over twitter.
Mostly because his tweets have become increasingly polarizing with the rah-rah 'Murica schtick. I guess now that he's been passed around all the sports radio channels like a cheap hooker he's trying to reinvent himself into a conservative talk radio shill.
I like Charlie more than I dislike him, but I have to agree with you here. Sometimes I just can't take his show when driving home. If it's been a slow day or if I'm tired then I can listen to him drone on. But if I'm pumped or feeling good, the station gets changed quickly. Also, what did Innes do that was so racist and got him shipped out of Houston the first time?
I'm not a huge Charlie fan, though I do appreciate that he tends to give non-biased opinions on the state of Houston teams. No way I am ever listening to Innes though.
I thought the Philly job was basically a promotion for him. AFAIK he didn't do anything racist here, but I only listen(ed) to Charlie so I don't know for sure.
He didn't, he had a beef with Rich and the PG that brought him on left for Dallas. They didn't re-up his contract and he took a significant pay bump to go to WIP. He has a tendency to not get along with older personalities. Fortunately, Jim is the perfect fit for him, as Jim was the original producer when the "Wolfpack" started on 610 and they carried on that friendship off the air. Charlie will land on his feet, staple of this town on the radio, but that's the business they signed up for, nothing is ever permanent
How much do these sports radio talk show hosts make? As painful as it is to see him go for Josh Anus, I am pretty sure Charlie will be more than fine financially for the next several months.
