DMO's agent "Rockets not doing enough to re sign him"

If I am Morey I pull DMo's QO and just keep him a RFA. No one is going to offer him a contract. He just sits there and either eventually takes the Rockets offer or there is a S&T. The Rockets are under no pressure to get anything done and they have all the leverage.

Shiz is going to get real when DMO starts missing game checks.

It's one thing to miss training camp it's another to start missing money.

 

You can't pull the QO and keep him as RFA. Doing that actually fully rescinds all rights to him. Plus, DMo had to sign off on retracting the QO.

That said, @BimaThug reports have his sources say the QO expired last night at midnight

 

Ok, I guess that's what I meant, the QO expired, he is an RFA and we are back in the position I ultimately was getting at. ;-)

 

Seems like DMo is not confident in his back to sign 1 year contract.

That's my prediction, sign a 2-3 year with first 2 years guaranteed and the 3rd year TO for less than the QO on a per year salary.

 

Bj should have used Europe as leverage months ago. Scola's agent successfully used that same tactic to get Morey to make a more lucrative deal. Scola also played ball and let some of the final years of contract not be fully guaranteed.

Bj seems over his head in this negotiation.

 

Scola also never had a season ending surgery on his core and was the very definition of iron man. Plus Scola is just better than D-Mo.

 

Morey's playing that chess, BJ playing that checkers.

 

He's saying the quality human behavior DMo exhibits drove him to improve his 3pt shooting in order to improve his measurable analytics, but he won't represent DMo by using adv analytics to show his ability to stretch the floor.

We wouldn't have matching rights though, so wouldn't we consider him as good as gone in that scenario?

 

My biggest take from all this situation is that DMo's back is indeed in bad shape going forward and he knows it. Otherwise he would have taken the QO already, proven his health and form in one season and signed big $ next summer. By going such distance to negotiate a long term deal shows he has no confidence in getting another contract after he signs this.

All this bullshit just makes me miss Beasley more. We could have paid the dude in crack rocks and he would have showed up.

 

ESPN sure tried to apply DMo's butt sweat to quantifying Curry at less than 100% anytime he had a bad game.

 

BJ is saying he knows f*** all about statistics or he doesn't like what they say. This is the same type of thing anti-stats coaches say when they get fired or don't get hired.

Also, there is no way D-Mo knows his back is screwed and is trying to pinch pennies. Not because D-Mo is special, but because humans in general don't think that way. You would never do that, and you don't personally know anyone who does this at a job they love. There are no basketball players planning to screw their team who have the motivation to go out and get in great shape, that's now how motivation works in humans. You will find paper pushing desk workers doing this, but that's a different situation.

So what does this QO thing mean exactly? Is it possible he signs a 1 year deal with us? Doesn't make sense he'd do that because he could have had 1 year $4.4m with a no-trade clause basically. So he must be seeking more than that, or more years? Can someone give me some insight without injecting emotions?
