(CNN)A Louisiana judge released body cam video Wednesday showing officers firing multiple rounds into a car, unknowingly striking and killing a 6-year-old boy.

The incident, which happened in September 2015,resulted in the indictments of two marshals on second degree murder and second degree attempted murder charges.
The marshals began pursuing the car after they witnessed an argument between a man and his girlfriend in front of a local bar, a source told CNN. Officers moved to detain the man, identified as Christopher Few, who took off in his car.
The pursuit ended in gunfire on a dead-end street in Marksville, Louisiana.
    Graphic video
The Superintendent of the Louisiana State Police called the video "the most disturbing thing I've seen." It comes from a body camera worn by a separate officer, and shows back-up arriving, shots being fired, and the moment deputies realized they had killed a child.

Jeremy Mardis was hit by five bullets.
The footage, which is very graphic in parts, shows a confused scene in which several officers discuss the situation and how best to proceed. An officer appears to say, "I don't know who all fired," to which another officer seems to respond, "I fired."
The suspect, who is behind the wheel of a small white car, is hit but not killed. He presents his hands to the officers and eventually, slowly, crawls out of the car to lie on the asphalt.

VIdeo shows Christopher Few in the car.
The officer wearing the body cam calls dispatch to ask about another officer's arrival time. He's asked about suspect injuries, to which he replies, "severely critical."
Two officers can be heard discussing what to do next. One says, "You want me to call state police?" The other responds, "No listen. Get all these people away. And block this off over here," gesturing to the road.
'I never saw a kid in the car'
A discussion about the suspect's condition ensues, and an officer says, "I never saw a kid in the car, bro." The officer wearing the camera says, "Yeah he's ahh...the kid is..." but doesn't finish his sentence.

    Controversial Police Encounters

The officer who is wearing the camera eventually walks around to the passenger side of the vehicle, windows have been shattered. He shines his flashlight onto the child's inert body, which is in the front passenger seat, and speaks to him before checking his pulse. An officer can be heard vomiting off-camera.
He later unbuckles the child's seatbelt, exclaiming "oh my God," before walking away.

    Jeremy Mardis was 6.
Later on the video, an EMT pronounces the child, first-grader Jeremy Mardis, dead. He was hit by five bullets in the head and chest, according to CNN affiliate WAFB.
Jeremy's first-grade teacher told CNN he was autistic and did not communicate verbally.
Jeremy died, and his father survived.
    Officers face trial
Two Marksville, Louisiana, marshals were indicted on murder charges by a grand jury in December, and are awaiting separate murder trials later this year.
They were identified as Derrick Stafford, 32, and Norris Greenhouse, 23.

Officers Norris Greenhouse Jr., left, and Derrick Stafford are charged with second-degree murder.
Greenhouse knew Few before the deadly encounter, a source familiar with the investigation told CNN. Investigators are looking into the extent of their relationship.
Defense attorney Alex Higgins, who represented Greenhouse when he was indicted, but toldCNN affiliate KALB at the time that the case lacks sufficient evidence and that the indictment in no way proves guilt.
The video was released as part of an evidentiary hearing Wednesday, according to CNN affiliate KATC.
Stafford's trial is set for November, and Greenhouse's set for March.

Surprised the resident racists haven't come in this thread and said the kid deserved to die because he didn't obey the cops. I wonder why, probably because the kid isn't black.

They are too busy celebrating. If OP hadn't posted this, KKKtexxx would have a thread about this kid getting "popped"

If these were white cops and a black child, then the race hustlers would be out in full force. There would be riots and senseless violence. The races were reversed, so the race hustlers are quiet as a mouse...such hypocrites.

...and back on topic, this is a truly sad, sad story.

Wow, I really have no words right now. Incredibly sad. Shame we have to have so many of these stories.

Glad to know the loss of some type of life still elicits a positive emotional reaction from you.

If this was a black autistic child, you would be making a thread celebrating the fact that the kid got shot because he didn't obey the cops, who is hypocritical now?

How is the premise of your previous thread inapplicable to this situation?

Why is this even a thread? The kid was white, not a life that matters.

Really sad story to read. Can tell there's an instant sense of remorse from both officers. One fessed up right away to firing a gun. The other puked upon sight of the child in disgust. That's the thing about shootings. It hits targets you don't even intend to aim for too. You hear about it in drive bys where it's a neighbor to the intended target that gets killed from bullet spray but the main target lives. I know these men are trained to look at your surroundings before firing a weapon to make sure no innocent civilians are caught in range but even stuff like this slips.

The article said the cops observed a couple fighting after leaving a bar and it somehow escalated to gunfire. I wish it'd elaborate more on that. That said I fail to see how a potential domestic violence or DWI concern could result in needing to fire rounds into a parked car with three people inside of it. That's the kind of shoot first, ask questions mentality I interpret from reading stories like this. I'll see if there are other articles with more details that at least show some justification for even needing to use firearms although with the murder charges already set I imagine the evidence doesn't paint a pretty picture for any need to use them at all.

EDIT: Just father and son in the vehicle. Looks like the father drove off without the girlfriend he was arguing with at the bar. Somewhere along the car chase the marshals decided to fire rounds on him even when the vehicle was stopped. Their aim on the intended target sucked but they were able to put 5 bullets in the head of the 1st grader along with one in the chest while only wounding the father. 4 marshals. Only 2 being charged with murder as they're the ones that fired rounds needlessly.

Don't really feel like watching the murder of a six year old on dashcam but my interpretation is the cops intervened between the arguing couple in front of the bar. Marshals probably want to detain the boyfriend. He "resists" and drives off in his vehicle. Two marshals feel threatened thinking he could be reaching for a gun once they corner his vehicle in a dead end lot, and "justify" their shots by feeling "threatened" and instead put 5 in the head and 1 in the chest of a 1st grader.

Did this kid deserve to die in your opinion? Why or why not?

You seem like you have the capability of being an intelligent person but you use it in such a moronic way. Such a waste.

This is such a depressing story.

And no one on this board has ever put forward an argument that would suggest this child deserved to be killed, or that white lives don't matter. The disconnect that exists between people on this forum amazes me.

Of course not, and that's why the cops are being put on trial....but it's not a story, just an unfortunate situation that is being handled. Surprising that it's more than a local story given that it doesn't further any narratives.
