Clinton called half of Trump supporters "deplorables" and the media barely covered so don't tell me there isn't a double standard. As for Trump tweeting, well that's the type of guy Trump is. If he's being attacked, he will defend himself.

 

Yes they did! They covered it for about 3 days straight, then she passed out from her PNA. It definitely would have been a bigger story if she doubled down and said something like 'half? no! all of his supporters are deplorable! every last of them is a sexist, bigot, racist, homophobic *******'. But she didn't. She instead issues a statement of regret and it was behind her.

Trump was told during the debate a former model who worked for him was supporting Hillary and was really offended by his disparaging comments about her weight gain. He could have apologized. Instead he doubled down at 3:30 am today ranting about how awful this person is, and how she had a sex tape. I am glad @SwoLy-D posted the link, because it's not even a sex tape but a part of a reality TV show.

Reddit speculates that Trump is doing this to deflect from his potential violations of the law with his charity and now alleged illicit trade with previously embargoed Cuba. But this is a really shortsighted deflection by all accounts. If anything Americans probably care more about this negatively than if Trump knowingly violated the Cuban embargo.

 

LOL. I don't want him to ever be allowed to answer that 3 AM call. A lot can happen between then and when I usually wake up at 6 AM for work. If he has this kind of temperament during a international event at 3 AM, there may not be a world to wake up to.

QFT. Clinton is a pro. That was as good a job at damage control as you can do. I'm always impressed that everything she does is top shelf. She hires the best people. The best. The deplorables comment still hurt her, but she got past it quickly. Sometimes, politicians meekly submit and it hurts them. Trump occasionally has pulled a victory by brashly sticking to his guns and defying criticism. But it seems to always be his solution, and it doesn't always work.
