Would love to see Encarnacion and Reddick signed. Might as well throw in Chapman as well. Then move Devo to the starting rotation. If McCullers is healthy and Keuchel bounces back to something closer to 2015 than 2016, that would be a hell of a team.

But we've seen how this front office spends money. There will be no Encarnacion, Reddick or Chapman.

Springer now with 115 runs scored. The top 9 single season totals are held by a certain duo, but 4 more more and Springer would have the top total aside from them. Hidalgo has that honor at the moment with 118 back in that stupidly run happy 2000 season.

He is also only 20 PA shy of the franchise record, which is kind of cool given his perceived durability issues (which I never bought into).

Bregman in the lineup. Makes you think why didn't he PH for White in the 9th on Monday....

That's how I feel, too - although, as I argued then... I didn't see back of the bullpen as a priority. BUT... if they did, and were determined to get a closer, Giles made the most sense.

But had they not panicked (IMO) on Giles, they would have had more (better?) assets to make deals to improve their everyday line-up, either last winter or at the deadline. OR... VV could have addressed what was (again, with me, hindsight) a more glaring issue: starting pitching.

maddening to think that if the bullpen, which got us back in the race, didn't go through a mini slump versus the Angels, we'd be tied with the birds for that last wild card. Also add an extra long reliever to the off season shopping cart.

Let's not allow the mariners a chance to get in. win this afternoon.

Unless they move Devemski and/or Feliz to the starting rotation, they have two very good long relievers already.

Fister has been clowning us for weeks now. Might as well have at least tried Devenski considering there was no way Fister could get anybody out

I don't think that Doug is going to be a big league starting pitcher much longer.

at least there's no chance Fister gets a QO and then unfortunately accepts.

Could you imagine if the Astros had kept Gomez and made a QO to both Fister AND Gomez?

No worries, I am sure Crane can sell those bad boys at a golf auction. I am half expecting the bases next year to have "Phillips 66" plastered on them in bright red so that the Astros can pay Sipp's contract next season.
