This team will never win anything with Brock Osweiler at QB!

Fifth year - but 10th start. And third start in a new system.

He's a rookie. He obviously has a jump start on a lot of the peripherals; in that way, he's not a rookie. But game action-wise, hes' a rookie in a new system. I know people are going to scream, "EXCUSE!" - but it's true. We have to give him time to grow and improve. If he doesn't... then, yeah, it's problematic. But he doesn't even have 16 career starts.

I wish fuller would have held on for the sure tds and the refs made a call so that he's stats would reflect how impactful his play in the first 2 games were to winning. one bad performance in a bad gameplan against the best prepared coach in history and people are already wanting to throw the season.

It was the same way on the Chiefs' blog after we beat them, now a week later and they won a game and it's back to winning the SB this year. I don't doubt Texans fans will be any different. Knee jerking back and forth is pretty common among fans.

Fewer starts and doing much better...
    Siemian
    Wentz

Brock looks inept and has regressed since his earlier starts. We'll see how the oline plays out.

i don't think OB was on board with this signing when it was reported...

i think he was pining on getting someone through the draft, bc in the press conferences, you could tell he wasn't as excited..

i don't think their personalities mesh well (brock and OB)..

Difference is both teams (Eagles/Broncos)can run the ball.

    That makes things much easier.

    Brock hater lol.

Siemian looked better this past weekend; his first two games were not good (1 TD; 3 INT; 74.4 qbR). Wentz has had an exceptional start - granted, against two of the worst teams in football (even Osweiler tore up the Bears). But you know who else had a nice first three NFL starts? Brock Osweiler: 62%; 4/2; 7.2 YPA; 89.2 qbR.

Here's the thing... Osweiler is, by game action, a rookie. Except, he's not a rookie because teams have ample game film on him. They know his tendencies, etc. It's a unique situation. The league will catch up to Wentz - the league *always* catches up - and we'll see how he adjusts. That's what Osweiler's going through now - while learning a new system.

If he's not markedly better weeks 9-16, then we likely have reason to be very worried.

    Want to love him

His book isn't written, but currently looks suspect.

There weren't any good QBs late outside of Dak and maybe Brissett; Hackenberg and Cook were awful and we weren't going to trade the farm for Wentz or Goff

As long as the offensive line sucks, no QB is going to be successful here.

That is my thought as well. And no run game either.

Let's not make a call on Brock until end of season.

    I've seen progress happen before.

Well whose brilliant idea was it to invest in a QB/RB and then build a patchwork OL?

    Miller:
Att: 74(2nd; Blount first with 75)
    Att/G: 24.7(2nd; Blount first with 25.0)
Yards: 269(4th; Blount first with 294; Crowell 274; Elliott 274)
    Y/A: 3.6
    Y/G: 89.7(4th behind 3 above)
    321 yards from scrimmage
    1 fumble
    0 TD

    Texans rushing:
    Att: 96(T-5th)
    Yards: 335(13th)
    Y/A: 3.5(T-26th)
    Y/G: 111.7(13th)
    3 fumbles
0 TD(Vikings only other team without rushing TD)

    Eagles: 96 att - 358 yards - 3.7 Y/A - 119.3 Y/G - 5 TD - 3 fumbles
    Broncos: 83 att - 334 yards - 4.0 Y/A - 111.3 Y/G - 3 TD - 2 fumbles
    Texans: 96 att - 335 yards - 3.5 Y/A - 111.7 Y/G - O TD - 3 fumbles

Kind of ignores the fact that the starting RT got hurt in camp and the starting C went on the IR while the starting LT still isn't back from injury.....probably not best to judge what is left as if it was the plan. Put Nick Martin at center, have Duane Brown back at LT, and have Derek Newton back at RT and then we can talk about what the "brilliant idea" looks like.

    Newton is already out there.
They were counting on a rookie to step in & then did nothing to replace him when he got hurt.
Brown coming off serious injury (but counting on him to be the Duane Brown of old)

    Sounds like a plan!

Yeah, good luck Broc & Lamar! Have fun behind that patchwork OL!

A first round rookie.....and by the time he got hurt, there wasn't a lot that could be done. That's what happens when starters get hurt in camp.

Anyway, I get that you are probably just trolling, but there's nothing wrong with what they tried to do on the O line, it just didn't work out due to injury. It can happen to any team.

Let's give him 8 games before passing judgement on him. We are 2-1 and got out coach and out played by a NE team that has done this to many old teams. Calm down people.
