There are already 15 guys that I would assume are all going to be on the team, assuming Motiejunas signs: Nene / Capela / Onuaku Anderson / Motiejunas? / Harrell Ariza / Brewer / Dekker Harden / Gordon / McDaniels Beverley / Prigioni / Ennis I don't think any of those guys would get cut... That would mean there is no room for Gary Payton II, Bobby Brown, Isaiah Taylor, Kyle Wiltjer, etc. But Morey said just the other day: So it sounds like out of Prigioni, Brown, Payton II, and Ennis, 2 of them will make the team. Is there really a chance of Prigioni and/or Ennis getting cut?
then we must be gutting the team for a rudy gay or jr smith or dare i say...SOLOMON HILL?!?!?!?! ariza, bev, capela and a pick for hill, who says no?
Capela/Nene/Onuaku Anderson/Motiejunas/Harrell Ariza/Brewer/Dekker Harden/Gordon/McDaniel Beverley/Ennis/Prigioni would be my guess at the depth chart. So yea I'd say so.
I wouldn't be disappointed if this was the set roster. Intriguing team, especially if guys can stay healthy.
From Spotrac: Pablo Prigioni signed a 2 year / $2,229,953 contract with the Houston Rockets, including $1,050,961 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,114,977. In 2016-17, Prigioni will earn a base salary of $1,050,961.
I think your lineup is a bit off, I also don't believe this is the final roster, Brewer will not be here much longer, and Dekker will take most of his minutes if he is. Brewer has peeked his ceiling and did so a long time ago, only thing Brew is at this point is trade bait. Brew is a labially in MDA offense and will ride the bench if he stays on this roster. Capela / Nene Anderson / Motiejunas / Harrell Ariza / Dekker / KJ / Brewer Harden / Gordon Beverley / Ennis / Prigioni Onuwaku and GP2 will be D-League Vipers... Unless one of them really shows something along with Bobby Brown than a move might be made to open up a roster spot but I doubt that happens based on what little i saw from GP2 in summer league. Bobby Brown is good but i have a feeling he will have trouble playing w/Harden only because his game seems so similar to Lawsons in that they need the ball in their hands to produce, BB is not a spot up shooter and i don't see that changing anytime soon at his age. Every PG DM brought in is a pass first PG w/the exception of Bev who was already here, coincidence? nope. Harden and Gordon will man most of the minutes at the PG position while Bev starts the game and watches from the bench at the end of games. I can see Ennis coming in when Bev needs a breather along with Gordon or Harden but don't expect Ennis to play much even though he's the backup and also don't expect GP2 nor Onuwaku on the roster anytime soon.
Onuaku is going to be on the roster... he was the draft pick this year. Just because he will play in the D-League doesn't mean he won't be on the Rockets' roster. Gary Payton II will most likely be cut by the Rockets and signed by the Vipers. But Onuaku will be on the Rockets' roster and just be "on assignment" playing with the Vipers even though he's on the Rockets roster.
MDA offense actually helps him a bit because the tempo is much faster which is what brew is good at running.
This breaks my heart. He's a classy guy, I wish Morey would just keep him. Good locker room presence!
