Tough talk for a team that has only beaten them once in 7 tries an de that lose came off a blown lead and losing their best receiver
Love the confidence, but you sounded confident '12 MNF... and look what happened. We lost again embarrassingly later that same season... then again last season. The only game we've ever won Brady didn't entirely play (BY CHOICE) and Welker got hurt. Texans fans should be damn near scared. Coaches and player are a different story, but fans?? I do have FAR MORE confidence in Bill-Brock vs Kubiak-Schaub, though.... no doubt. Texans still have plenty respect to be earned.... and they're on a decent track this season.
Cool Story Bro A security guard at my local grocer was telling me of a customer who came in recently wanting Texans merchandise. My friend points him in the right direction, then the customer makes a comment saying, "I'm just a proud papa". Turns out, the guy was Anderson's father. Kroger - OST@Cambridge
Tremendous amounts of salt coming from this post. I do not like Belichick or the Patriots either, but you are severely underselling the man. No self-respecting player/coach should ever be "scared" to play anyone of course, but Belichick has proven time and time again how much respect he commands no matter who is on the field for them. It's even more evident when the Patriots are dogs -- and home underdogs at that. He went 11-5 with Matt Cassell of all people. He recently beat a SB-contending Cardinals, even if on a missed field goal, with an unproven 2nd year quarterback who didn't have a good preseason in his first start as a 9.5 pt road underdog. And it's not like we're some juggernaut either where we can overlook a team, we haven't been exactly been flawless and we've played a trash Bears team and a Chiefs team coming off an emotional OT victory that missed their best players on both sides of the ball (in addition to other key injuries). It's not about being scared, it's just about respect for one of the best coaches of all time who has routinely owned us in our short history. Plus we don't have a great history on primetime and the Patriots are near damn unbeatable at home, especially to non-divisional opponents.
no salt, i just don't think he's a genius. a genius doesn't need to cheat. like i said i respect him for what he is, a hard working, cheating, football coach. he's not super natural, he's not a boogeyman. respect him, outwork him, and get it done. also past results don't matter at all. only losing mentalities apply significance to the past events as if they have some super natural effect on tomorrows result. the only thing that matters is right now and i hope our players and staff have the right attitude because if we do we will walk out of there with a W.
Can't wait! Sitting here at work in my Texans Polo...... It's cool how there are so many ways to watch tonights game. via NFL.com, tnf.twitter.com, CBS mobile app, etc.....
HTML is disabled completely. It's on my plate to work to convert past posts, but to embed a tweet, just post a link to it. This game thread will be the first one for use on the new forums so I'm curious how it does.
This game comes down to taking care of the ball. Brock has thrown interceptions in both games last year...this can't happen against the Patriots because they WILL capitalize even though the defense has been playing well. Hope we can run the ball effectively if not we really need to have a good screen game going to get them off balance. Blockers gotta block! Lets get it Texans! 3-0!!!
