Thanks to Devo being a boss the Astros have Harris and Gregerson available and rested today. Hopefully McHugh can give us one or two more.
Its depressing that we could go in to the post season with Valbuena, Bregman, McCullers and Keuchel had we not been bitten so hard by the injury bug. Our list is as long as the Texans heading in to TNF...
Hinch deserves some major credit. The players obviously like him, play hard for him, and respond to his approach.
couple thoughts: 1) IIRC, this is the second start where mendgen has been lights out all game sans one inning. could be a good arm going forward for OAK. 2) given rasmus' (odd) comments earlier, and his comments in the past that he only wants to play a couple more years...i wonder if he hangs it up this offseason and takes on a different role with the team.
He needs to be a reliever. I think he is way to dependent on that fastball which is above average, but he lacks the out pitch.
Absolutely. I'm not the biggest fan of some of his in-game moves but the guy has the respect of the clubhouse and that is a huge part of the battle.
Toronto and Baltimore play each other next week, guaranteeing that one of those teams will lose at least 2 games, possibly 3. We only need to catch one of the two teams. Therefore if we pull to within 2 games of both teams this week we control our own destiny...because at that point if we win out we will be tied with one of the two teams no matter how they do the rest of the way. Detroit is a factor too, we need to pull even with them. But that too is only a 1/2 game.
