Can you tell me why you are once again posting in a thread you claimed you were done with until next season?

Two big wins against a team that has played Astros tough this year. I know Giles makes it interesting sometimes, but this experience should benefit him from a development standpoint. Let's sweep'em and hope the Red Sox keep beating up on Orioles.

I ain't a fan, but all the credit in the world to Mr. Hinch.

To say he pulled all the right strings tonight is an understatement.

I don't have to explain to you why I'm posting in a thread. You are not the internet police

Good calls. Musgrove could've ended it better, but he pitched very well today.

Devo was great. Giles made it too interesting.

Yuli is now under .300. The Big 3 need to play better, although Springer had 2 hits today.

Thank goodness we're getting great pitching. Hope it continues.

I just think nobody pays much attention to his "easy/routine" saves.

He's still an overall plus on the season...drama and all.

Everyone knows bobrek was never anointed Internet Police, but what this post presupposes is...maybe he was?

Of all the pitchers currently in the American League with at least 100 innings pitched, Devenski has an ERA almost ONE RUN lower than the second place guy - 1.98 - 2.97. He also has the lowest WHIP. 0.89.

I'd be surprised if he closes tomorrow. More than likely it will be Gregerson or Harris. They need a nice blowout win.

Exactly what I thought before his last blown save.

It's either Hinch or an edict from the front office... But they sure have pitched the hell out of him.

My reasoning is it would be his third consecutive appearance and it is a day game, not because of the way tonight went.

Giles is a fantastic asset going forward. An elite reliever (yes, he is one of those) under 4 years of team control is worth a ton these days.

Anyone notice that the Internet police have not shot any black posters recently.

That was mostly my reasoning last time too. Except instead of it being a day game, he pitched two innings the night before.

He's still very raw. The K numbers he's put up this year despite mental lapses, mechanics issues, pitch sequencing issues, and control issues is nothing short of impressive.

I've actually seen more and more of an attempt to "pitch" from him as the season as gone on (changing eye levels... Throwing the slider for strikes when hitters are just not swinging...better fastball location/command).

That being said, if he has to be a part of a package for an ace or an elite hitter, you make the move... And tab internal replacements for the closer (especially since I don't have a lot of faith in the internal replacements being plus starters).
