He has gained weight from last year. At one point last year he had really thinned down and had a physique a lot like Adam Dunn before he let his body go. I really think that Reed has a body that is easy to get out of shape, but his production was notably better when he was in shape. His fielding is also better. Someone needs to sit him down and let him know that if he wants to be a big league starter and possibly star, he needs to be really diligent on his diet and working out.
I imagine that has happened already and it is just up to him this offseason. I still have high hopes, the talent is there.
Agreed. He really needs to show up in shape next year. Hell, he'll have more to worry about than simple baseball production if he's got these sort of weight fluctuations as just a 22 year old.
Thanks. At least nobody is trying to spin it like the Singleton "30 lbs of muscle!" rhetoric. Not sure of any sport, job, life-choice, or profession... where your performance doesn't get better when you're in shape.

All we need to do is get within 2 games of the Jays and Orioles by Tuesday, and then we control our own destiny from that point out. I like our chances. We can do that. That's just one game.
Nope. Rain delay in 4 = burn a starter in a non-official game, then use another in the makeup game whenever (if) that's necessary.
I would assume Seattle since the Jays currently occupy a wild card spots and Seattle is tied with us right now. It's nice to see that Baltimore/Toronto/Yankees/Red Sox all have to play each other.
jesus christ. ortiz is something else. just hit ANOTHER bomb, putting BOS up 5-1 over BAL. I've never seen a final season like this
Unlike Ashby, definitely Seattle. The Astros can make up games against the Mariners - they can't against the Blue Jays.
