And unarmed citizens are getting shot very frequently, yet they are not the ones who signed up for a dangerous job.

I'm sorry policing is dangerous, I wish that wasn't the case. But the "threat/non-threat" analysis needs to give citizens the benefit of the doubt, otherwise cops are just behaving like executioners.

If firefighters were similarly trained then no firefighter would ever enter a burning building until it was burned to the ground. Thank goodness we have some brave people protecting us, however.

Just because someone is not complying doesn't mean they deserve to be shot.

That is the dumbest ****ING thing I have ever read on here.

The Police should SHOOT as a last resort.....that is not happening, and the more the video comes out and shows it, the more the crazy side will decide to start shooting back.

And we'll fire them if they try to use their judgment and don't execute citizens!

And we'll blackball any police officers who go to higher authorities to report abuse of power by colleagues!

The police fraternity has created the us v. them mentality -- that part is clear by how they treat fellow officers who try to do the right thing. Nothing will get better until both sides (police and neighborhood communities) work together to understand one another. I have already seen signs of that happening over the past year.

Putting aside the cumulative effect of decades of racism and our piss poor drug policies, we really don't incentize some of our most important public servants.

Want better police? Pay them better and train them better. Same with other first responders and I'll throw teachers into it too.

I'm going to start telling my bosses that I won't live up to their expectations unless they start paying me more. Will report back later on how that worked.

I've rebutted that post like 5x now and the facts continued to be ignored.

    Basically...

But lets continue to ignore it, that helps things. Ignoring issues helps solve problems.

The one I'm really concerned about is LinkedIn. With the resume, you don't put a picture on there. But it's almost required on LinkedIn. And I have several black clients that I've helped with LinkedIn Profiles, and you worry that they're going to be rejected by some when they see their picture and apply some of the stereotypes.

Now, in my industry, this guy is kicking all of our asses, he's the #1 ranked resume writer on LinkedIn and he told me he's getting massive amounts of business:

    https://www.linkedin.com/in/tnorwood

In Tyrone's case, race has nothing to do with it- he's dominating us other writers, and I'm going to him to pick up tips. But not everyone is in that situation.

For my clients, that's where I'm concerned. Since these clients have to put their picture on LinkedIn, will prejudice affect them? Or, could it work in their favor, as diversity is a big push in corporate America? To be honest, I think sometimes it has to do with the industry - I think in some fields, they're a bit more receptive and less judgmental regarding one's race.

If either one of these candidates want to show real leadership, then have parties from both side to meet and try to find a solution.

There are good and bad on both sides.... But this has to stop...

Smart ass comment aside, perhaps you should turn your gaze around the developed world and see how the quality of other first responders and civil servants. The race to the bottom doesn't seem to be working out.

    Update: it didn't go well.

Anyway, yeah, more money will end this police violence.

Should that OP title read "by" rather than "of"?

Yea...I sure better trained cops won't solve anything... I am sure smarter drug policies won't solve anything...

Just keep your head in the sand and please don't vote. K thanks.

Oh wow, you support things getting "better" and "smarter"? What a coincidence - I do too!

FTR I support everything getting "better" and all other similarly worthless political platitudes. More money and better and smarter, for all things, for all time.

Cops shot an armed black man so the racist BLM types are preparing to riot again. They're tired of the ISIS inspired terrorists getting all the press.

Of course this happens just 8 days after this

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BREAKING?src=hash">#BREAKING</a>: Shelby police officer Tim Brackeen, 38, who was shot in line of duty has died, police chief is reporting <a href="https://t.co/XUhXSO7Wod">pic.twitter.com/XUhXSO7Wod</a></p>&mdash; WSOCTV (@wsoctv) <a href="https://twitter.com/wsoctv/status/775386743038210048">September 12, 2016</a></blockquote>

an officer in the same area gets shot while serving a warrant. Of course, that won't stop the racist BLM type from rioting, but IMO it's important context as to why someone who pulled a gun on cops who were serving a warrant (not even on the guy that got shot) would shoot you

In the minds of BLM racists, all cops are white and all cops are out to get black people. You have to realize that BLM racists think on a very simple, basic level logic is beyond their comprehension....emotion on the other hand, they've got tons of that.
