What's REALLY cool about Tool is that they were big Mr. Show fans (especially Maynard I believe), would sometimes come to the live taping, and even make cameo appearances.
Tool is one of the greatest bands ever. I've been into them since 92-93. They change their style every album, yet you know one of their songs 2 seconds into it. They've put out great music for 15 years straight, and their live act is second to none. Danny is in my top 3 drummers. Few drummers actually control the music as opposed to just keeping time with in it. Dude is bad ass period. He is what makes that band, not Maynard IMHO.
Agree 100% on the Daney Carey statement, didn't he tear a bicep recently causing them cancel their tour?
There is no band like Tool....they're just a whole different breed. AEnima is simply a masterpiece...pure genious..I still listen to that album today and it still sounds so freaking awesome...
I saw them live a while back. Carey's drumming was a show in and of itself. If only they had played forty six and 2, the show would have been perfect...
One of my favorite bands, and nobody puts on a live show like them. I was more into APC when they came out, but now I love both Tool and APC pretty much equally.
I totally dig Tool, and I loved 10,000 Days. So am I to understand they will be releasing a new album soon? I hadn't paid much attention to them for a while now.
bumping a decade old thread to wish Aenima a happy 20th birthday. top 5 greatest albums of all time...
Oh, reminds me. Happy birthday to you too. Belated by a day. So did you buy that album for your bday 20 yrs ago?
Love tool. Saw them in Houston a couple of years back . Never got to see APC, hope Maynard gets them back together too
I was about to say the same.....then I remembered it was in 1998....that might be considered more than "a couple of years back" now.
hey thanks! 30 feels weird... and no, i was listening to amy grant and dc talk when this album came out.
Hmm... Haha, hopefully you got into some of these other bands like Tool too etc still listen to this album and their others regularly.
