Anyone use these Messenger apps or plan to? Do you consider it a game-changer having App Stores for Text-Messaging plugins, essentially? Seems interesting to have Apps tied to contacts as you are texting.

My screen shot below is the Facebook Messenger App Store that allows you to pick an App to link to contacts.

I didn't know this existed on Facebook Messenger, and Apple just started with iOS 10. The Apps provide integration with texting. Early apps focus on obvious stuff like expanding emojis and GIFs support, but looks like you can directly make payments, request rides, share Dropbox files, etc.

Any other integrated messenging apps you've heard of?

I expect other apps might soon provide better conversation threading like 3rd party Twitter desktop apps do...integration with games. Plus, word is linking to CRMs like Salesforce, and integration with productivity tools on your phone.

Messinging apps that are popular in Asia provides alot of integration eg. WeChat

If it makes sense and it's intuitive then.... Sure, why not?

That's not what I'm talking about. That's a stand-alone replacement app. WeChat and Whatsapp do not have their own App Stores

Both Facebook Messenger and Apple Messenger now have App Stores. These are plugins to enhance the UX of those two messenging apps.

Look at screen shot above. You can integrate Payment apps with chat now, for instance. Or Dropbox file sharing right there in a chat window

No... I have hit my app store threshold. I have no room in my life for yet another app store... nor streaming service, lol Tidal.

You get an app store! And you get an app store! And you get an app store!
