So Hillary released some actual health records today with actual tests and examinations done by physicians.

So Hillary has released far more evidence that there isn't a more serious health issue than others have released to the contrary.

Yes, this is very strange. It isn't even so strange that they don't care about facts. What is really strange is that they lambast others for actually believing in facts and wanting to see facts.

It is completely odd to observe this. Maybe not the oddest thing on these boards, but odd none-the-less.

 

Because, as much as I respect them for their right to post, several on those on the right choose to be mentally manipulative. They have zero perspective because they have allowed a pattern of hyperbole to dominate their thoughts.

Everything this one person does is bad.
They have zero redeeming qualities.
Everything this candidate presents as factual is wrong.
Yet, every BS conspiracy about them is true.

It's just warped thinking. They probably don't think or act this way in any other human endeavor- with their jobs, their families, their friends, their business dealings, their cultural activities- they can provide perspective in these areas- you know, my kids are generally good, but they occasionally do the wrong thing. I don't really like rap music- but not all of it is terrible, there are some good artists even if I don't prefer the style.

This is a typical thought pattern that most rational human beings utilize. We have the capability of providing sound, even-handed judgment and perspective in the many areas of our lives. But when it comes to politics, it's as if that pattern is completely ignored. That goes for both sides.

As much as I dislike Trump, I can certainly see positive qualities and identify areas in which the criticism of him is overblown. He says reprehensible things, but I don't feel he would act on some of those (e.g. he made fun of a disabled person, but I'm certain he wouldn't do anything as stupid as trying to repeal parts of the ADA). If he becomes President, fine- you deal with it in your own way- you don't freak out, leave the country, quit your job, etc. You live your life just as you did under Obama, and if bad **** happens, then you deal with it.

 

This is a great post. I think all of us including myself are influenced by our biases. But such a drastic abandonment of logic or reason, is fascinating to me. I'm really interested in the odd way that this happens. I totally believe that you are correct about it not being the same in other aspects of most people's life. I just don't understand why?
