No, he is just trying to attract attention to himself, as Kaepernick's proverbial 15 minutes are almost up.

The media covers this as being about who isn't standing for the pledge, not about what is it they are protesting. This has turned into another tabloid, Kardashian-class self-promotion spectacle.

If he and other people who share his views are ever interested in having a TWO WAY conversation about this, with ALL the issues on the table, that discussion is available to be had. If and when they become willing, which unfortunately, they do not yet appear to be.

But these sorts of stunts, the BLM disruptions of private events, the segregated "safe spaces" and walking around with massive chips on their shoulders hoping someone will pass close enough by for them to start with the name calling and the race card playing, is not constructive and is not helping their "cause." A "cause" which they are obviously very emotional about, but which they clearly have not thought through very well.

    Once again...

"I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: ‘I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action’; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a ‘more convenient season.’"

All this talk of how BLM is "Blocking the streets!" is funny to me. Protesting isn't about finding some small corner to yourself and being pushed to the side. I know conservatives by nature are afraid of change and disorder, but that's exactly what protesting is about. Sorry.

Sorry that one guy took a knee and triggered some folks.

You aren't really looking to have a conversation. Most of you are not. Instead what you want is a one way scolding. That's all you really want to do. You see it in many posts in this thread.

"Don't do it this way, do it that way." and "But wait, where are the fathers!?" and "Black on black crime!"

There is no discussion to be had there and you don't set the table about where and when to have this discussion.

You know what isn't helping your cause? This belittling of people.

    Well
    1. They don't have legit beefs.....at all.

    2. Not showing respect during the national anthem is showing disrespect for the country.

    3. There IS something wrong with that.

Being racially mixed has nothing to do with it. Honestly we don't even know for sure what Kap's racial composition is....hell neither does he really. Most people would see him and think that it was just a privileged and kind of douchey white guy. That's why he's trying to hard first with the Screech from Saved by the Bell fro and now the corn rows, he might as well be C. Thomas Howell's character from Soul Man.

Anyway, disrespecting the flag is no different than intentionally disrespecting anything else for no reason. It's not illegal, but it makes you an *******. The Westboro Baptist people are a good comparison.

I think the problem is that some are looking to have a logical conversation while some only want to have an emotional conversation. When people point out logical reasons for things happening the way they happen, people lose their minds and start calling everyone racist.

When some people cling to the notion that numerous multi-racial groups and organizations are just irrationally out to get black people, because racism....it kind of ends the productive part of conversation.

So legal and non-violent protests should get you put in front of a firing line? What a pathetic ******* that pastor is. He is no christian and he is no American.

Just curious...those of you that are so angry about Kaepernick's protest, what were you doing during the national anthem last night or during any of the games you watched on tv this weekend?

It's probably been said before, but it's a right he has. As long as his expression of rights don't infringe on mine, he could light himself on fire. I wouldn't step off the curb to piss on him to put him out, but that's my right.

All this uproar is making him significant. Say what you want of him or not, but all the memes on social media, and the media focusing on these idiots is keeping this fire alive.

I do however wonder how CK will protest the black on black Chicago violence on Dec 4 when they play at Chicago.

I will leave this here...what we should be focusing on.

I don't think JJ Watt needs any more publicity.

He is an American and has every right to share his opinion. Remember that thing called free speech. It works for every American.

When I caught the national anthem, I was alone in the room. I stopped and stood for the duration of the anthem.

I disagree, the focus should be on the players and the teams who do the right thing, not on the few turds that make everyone else look bad. Especially when the people who are actually good are those doing the right thing and some scrub backup is the turd being disrespectful.

I think standing in the presence is one thing, standing at a broadcast over television is different thing to me.

It doesn't bother me at all that he doesn't stand for it. I think he has the right to do that even if I think there are better ways to protest. But he has brought publicity to the cause which is good. I do support the cause.

His opinion was that children should be murdered in a firing line if they protest.

And shouldn't you respect his opinion as you are suggesting people respect Kap's?

I don't agree with it...Just like I don't agree with CK, but he has his right to his opinion and free speech.

I'm pretty sure if you saw someone on fire right in front of you and didn't do anything to stop it, you'd be in trouble. Rightfully so.

I'm all for people doing things that reveal who they are, good or bad. By all means expose yourself.

If I were the 49ers though, wouldn't want the distraction or an employee doing something in uniform that damages the brand.

Nah, "quod est necessarium est licitum" would apply. Needed to happen.

Haha man you weren't supposed to expose the secret;)
That's what I just love about our society. We just know how to act so idiotic and disgusting.
Whether the story is a gorilla being killed or simply someone having a difference of opinion than you, we just know how to find something to point fingers at, and then proceed to have a massive hate circlejerk of pure stupidity.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see him act out the burning monk and really show how much he believes in his cause...still wouldn't step off the curb to piss on him though.
