Just another note to the Denver/National media
But you know, Siemian managed the game, showed athleticism, and handed the ball off really well and one of those INTs was not his fault. Meanwhile Brock was saved by his WRs and RB play.

    9.Brock Oswieler QBR = 78.5
    24. Trevor Siemian QBR = 43.4

None of that matters the moment Mancz pushes into #50's back, doesnt matter if the LB was losing balance, as Mancz pushed him right into the ground afterward...happy they didnt call it, but it wouldnt have been wrong to flag him there. And if it was the other way around, I'd be ultra pissed.

I dont understand why players cant lay off of blocking someone when their back is clearly to them.

Having not seen much of the preseason, you who Brock reminds me of?.... Matt Schaub.

Stronger, faster... but I would guess '11 Schaub is his ceiling (which would be tremendous) - hopefully, he's (mentally and physically) tougher.

Man, I love this coaching staff - very much of the Belicheck model; you can see the influence. That match-up in week 3 will (hopefully) be fun as hell.

BoB is such a better coach than Kubiak. I still don't know how Kubiak lucked into winning the SB last year. Manning was the real coach of the offense and Phillips was in charge of the defense. Kubiak was just there.

2 reasons I disagree, and I wish I knew how to post GIFs.

    1. Either the first or second drive, Brock looked to be sacked, he broke the tackle, ran forward, completed a pass. NO WAY crumple-to-the-ground Schaub does that.

    2. And this may be personnel, Schaub did not throw the ball over 15 yards. Brock did it like 6 times. I think his ceiling (I am in no way saying he is there or will be for a while) is Big Ben. That's just my opinion, don't blast me too much, I'm not saying he is even close, I could just see him getting there eventually.

Honestly given the state of the QB position in the NFL Matt Schaub is not bad at all... Outside of the top 4-5 guys it's just a bunch of mediocre guys.

If Brock can give us Schaub level production but have better pocket presence I think we are in good shape.

Why the comparisons to Matt Schaub? He's tall and white? He moves better in pocket. Seems more field aware than Matt S. ever wad , plus shows a tendency to unleash the deep ball high I can't remember the other guy doing as much . He looks closer to Peyton was than Matt IMO . Has that "it" factor. Seems committed to being prepared .

I should clarify - I didn't mean it *literally*; I think his ceiling is Matt Schaub - a very good, at times great QB.

If Osweiler can show prime-Schaub level accuracy, we are a Superbowl contender.

Schaub threw the ball plenty of times over 15 yards. In 2010, he was 2nd in the NFL with 59 completions over 20 yards...and 10th in completions over 40+ yards (9). What Schaub failed at was having the arm strength to get the ball in stride to AJ80 on deep balls. However, our play action offense did very well as far as finding guy downfield. You dont throw that many yards by dinking and dunking.

I love that, three years later, nothing has changed. Kubiak is now 6-2 the last two years without Manning - but he continues to receive zero credit for anything positive. He won a playoff game with TJ Yates starting; he beat the defending NFC champions with Trevor Semian starting... and he continues to do these things, it would seem, in spite of himself. He is, as you say, apparently just there.

I sdon't see what BOB has done to be compared to Kubiak yet....this Texans team isn't nearly as good as the Kubiak Texans with Andre and Foster. That offense was great. Then Schaub broke his foot.

Besides that Kubiak made the Ravens offense elite then won a Super Bowl

Also, prime-Schaub routinely was among the league leaders in YPA and he rarely turned the ball over. He had tremendous field awareness.

It baffles me that three years of not-prime Schaub + the scores of mediocre-to-terrible QBs that followed him hasn't made people appreciate prime-Schaub more. I guarantee you, if you offered BO'B 65% | 7.8 YPA | 94.3 with 2:1 TD:INT ratio for Brock, he would injure you jumping all over it.

Brock seems far more physically gifted to me. Bigger, stronger arm, more mobile.

Now let's see if he has the accuracy and mental aspect is there too. His deep ball certainly looks better.

I forgot where I read or heard this, but it was stated Osweiler doesn't have that great of an arm relative to his size, he tends to push the ball instead of throwing. Also mentioned he overstrides in his passing motion. I'm thinking these are just mechanic issues that can be corrected.

Some quick takes I got from Brock yesterday(I know only one game yadda yadda).

    1. His decision making seems far better than what we have had previously(not saying much but its a positive). It seems like his football IQ is above average as it looked like he understood what the defense was giving him most of the time.

    2. He has decent pocket presence. His size/athleticism buys him a couple more moments in the pocket or to escape the pocket to make a play. We'll see once we start playing better defenses how he does against constant pressure.

    3. He definitely has some zip to his throws with pretty good accuracy. Couple throws got away from him in the game though. It also looks like he has a longer than average wind-up would have to watch more vids of him throwing.

So far(just one game) I like what I see from him.

Of course I don't think Mercilus gets double and triple teamed
