I thought the o-line was kind of meh. Not bad. But weren't really imposing any will or anything. The running game was fairly average after that first quarter.

I though Brock was great. Couple miscues but I think the stats and high flying offense will come with (I) fewer drops and (II) a further opening of the playbook. Hardly any tight end utilized. Not great screens. Mid level throws weren't called a lot. Bombs, out patters, short crossing and underneath routes were there. Lots more that can be added which is good.

Hoyer had a passer rating of 91.4 last year and Fitzpatrick's was 95.3 the year before that. Simply having a rating of 90 doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Draft priorities next year: inside linebacker, offensive tackle, safety.

Could be a lot worse. Take this past offseason: QB, WR, RB, DE, ILB, S

You can't fix everything in one year.

It's great to know that we dont even have to think about QB, RB, WR, CB, OLB....until the later rounds for depth.

We have a very talented team this year, and poised to get significantly better next year with high round draft picks filling in any weaknesses that are remaining.

but those guys couldn't complete a pass on 3rd down to save their life. It's all about moving the chains. I liked the patriots more when they had a brady who was in the high 80s and low 90s, the3 superbowls in four year teams. then, let him grow into the offense.

Stephen Andersen had 3 catches for 25 yards. I think two of those catches were first downs

Pretty ironic statement after you had this to say about Fuller:

"Fast as hell but not explosive at all".

"He's a guy you hit when THEY SAG ON HOPKINS".

Houston Texans 23, Chicago Bears 14

Here are the biggest takeaways and highest-graded players from the Houston Texans’ 23-14 season-opening victory over the Chicago Bears.

    Houston Texans

    Quarterback grade: Brock Osweiler, 84.5

Osweiler takes a big first step

This was the moment Brock Osweiler had been waiting for as the unquestioned starting quarterback of an NFL team, and he didn’t disappoint. Osweiler was very effective in the short and intermediate ranges of the field, completing 18 of 25 passes targeted between 0-19 yards downfield.

    Top offensive grades:

    RT Derek Newton, 83.9

    WR Will Fuller, 77.2

    WR DeAndre Hopkins, 76.6

    FB Jay Prosch, 74.4

    C Greg Mancz, 73.9

Fuller has a very strong debut

Rookie wide receiver Will Fuller was drafted to bring a deep speed element to the Texans’ offense, and he did just that in his first NFL game. Fuller was targeted six times with throws 20 or more yards downfield, and he led the Texans in targets, catches and yards in his first game. He also took a screen pass to the house, showcasing his speed and open-field running ability.

    Top defensive grades:

    LB Max Bullough, 81.5

    ED Whitney Mercilus, 79.4

    CB Johnathan Joseph, 78.8

    CB A.J. Bouye, 78.0

    LB Benardrick McKinney 77.4

Linebackers help lead the Texans to victory

OLB Whitney Mercilus had two sacks and two hurries on 29 pass rushes against the Bears. Sadly, linebacker Brian Cushing is lost for some time with a knee injury, but ILB Max Bullough played very well in his place and had three defensive stops.

    Probably.

Has a cap hit of 9.5 mil through 2019. Dead cap only 4.2 mil next year.

I think Bullough is a good replacement for Cushing during this time. Helps soften the blow.

However, I am concerned about the Chiefs next week. I thought them going down big against the Chargers was pretty comforting, but that comeback terrifies me.

Really hoping the Oline holds up, and the secondary gets patched up.

    Brock can be better.

    There defense has declined.

Houston is out, lost a few other guys.

One sack against the Chargers. Rivers is a monument in the pocket as well.

I bet Brock fares better than Hoyer did.

I keep re-watching the Fuller TD. It's so nice to see a guy who can take a screen pass and simply out run everyone to take it to the house. When's the last time we had speed like that from that position? Awesome.

    We have two of them.

Other guy wasn't as utilized yesterday.

Texans held back some offense yesterday. They played a pretty vanilla game in my opinion.

I was expecting to see some end around etc with Fuller and Braxton.

Rivers was throwing a lot of quick short passes to guys like Benjamin and Woodhead; even moreso after Keenan Allen was lost.

Also if you read reports about the game, you'll see that Alex Smith was very good at picking apart their ILBs. That happens to be where the Texans are dealing with a major injury. I wouldn't take the Chiefs for granted.
