Colin Kaepernick protests anthem due to treatment of minorities

A one-sided discussion, which is commonly referred to as a lecture. That is not a dialogue, it is a monologue.

Just like you are completely closed minded to my comments and observations on this subject, so it is with the black racist groups like BLM.

Surely you have observed the tactics these people use, disrupting private events in an effort to interrupt people and force them to speak to the issues that BLM deems to be important, and to force these speakers to tell their audiences what these BLM thugs want these people to hear.

That is not a discussion.

 

A real discussion about what the way black communities are policed.

 

Yeah, but most people don't want a "real" discussion about what's wrong in those communities because when you get "real" you'd have to point the finger at people living in those communities more often than not. The only conversation that most want to have is one where the people in those communities find a scapegoat to blame all of their problems on. Often, they blame the police for arresting people for breaking the law....as if it's somehow the police's fault that those who are arrested were breaking the law.

You'd have to point the finger at all the men in those communities who ran out on their kids and had them grow up in poverty eventually turning to crime. You'd have to point the finger at the mothers who failed to raise their children right.

 

I find it fascinating to see so many white conservatives trying to explain to people of color that racial injustices in society, including the law enforcement and judicial systems don't really exist and any effort to speak out against it is simply a "publicity stunt" or a "lecture."

No, not really. That said, everyone needs a scapegoat. I do love the "people of color" line, really good way to make it an "us vs them" kind of discussion.

Do you need someone to tell you what freedom of speech means or are you going to realize on your own that people telling other people to stop embarrassing themselves isn't a first amendment violation.
