78% higher than the highest rated Big XII game last year?

No, I doubt the expectation was that the UH/OU game would get THAT large a number, that is very high.

Cool. Just wondering since I heard the same about the ACC and even the BIG without much or any substantiation behind it.

It's ok, I can count our national championships and big game bowl wins any day of the week.

College football is full of programs that shot to meteoric success only to fall back to earth for one reason of another. I think UH administration has been careful that they don't go the way of Boise State, but feel free to count your chickens before they hatch. UH has nice wins recently, better hope y'all are able to keep Tom Herman when the real big players come calling. That'll be what backs up all of your yipping.

Come on rocketry, quit popping off. I feel pretty confident that if offered a spot in the Big12 we'd certainly hold our own against anyone (especially with Herman as the coach). Kicking UT's ass every year? Put the crack pipe down.

Also I wouldn't get my hopes up too much about getting an invite to the Big12. I highly expect when this dog and pony show is over that they conclude they're NOT going to expand at all. Eight of the ten schools need to say "yes", and IMO it isn't going to happen (at least with UH). Only time will tell.

There you go again popping off about UH.

I'd like to see things from your point of view, but I can't seem to get my head that far up my ass.

    Paul Finebaum is CLUELESS!!!

He obviously has NO knowledge how things went down when Briles left for Baylor. NO WAY IN HELL this would ever happen.

I prefer the term "launching off". And I agree with the above.

    It's not rocket science :)

Any program that hires Briles needs to be ready for a ton of scrutiny. UH doesn't want or need that, especially on the cusp of joining a P5 conference.

Believe that's Feldman saying that, but ya I agree. Although it'd be a slam dunk hire from a pure football perspective.

It goes MUCH deeper in regards to UH. Briles was a RB coach at Tech when UH went out on a limb and gave him his first head coaching opportunity in college. He played for Yeoman, and he was one of our own. How Briles paid them back, and the **** he pulled at the end....NO WAY IN HELL.

Not happening anytime soon, but best thing would be UH in any major conference not-named Big 12. I don't wanna be rooting against the Horns every year.

Or maybe, best thing is Coogs remaining in a small conference, and going undefeated playing mostly creampuffs every year.

Herman leaving is a legit concern unless they're just playing the waiting game. If the Pac 12 or ACC talks have gotten a little more advanced then I'm not certain UH won't pony up the money necessary to keep him around until the P5 money starts rolling in.

Theres a lot there, just none of it being reported. UH played themselves into a P5 conference these last two games. Just wondering which one.

Honestly, I don't think the OU game plays much of a role at all in UH joining a P5. It's mostly about money in terms of what a team would bring to a P5. UH doesn't have enough of a track record of being a top 10 team to make P5 conferences want to add them for whatever prestige or notoriety that might bring to a conference. The win over OU is great publicity but it's a mistake to think this is some kind of play in situation.

    What were we thinking, Coogs?

The historic season. The dismantling of the Seminoles. The retaining of one of best coaching minds in football when several wealthy suitors opened their wallets--when everyone swore he wouldn't be here more than a year. The loss of only ONE assistant coach (for many times more his salary here). Even though they were also presented with more prestigious opportunities.

Then the ratings better than any B12 game. The sellout of NRG. The domination of one the most respected programs in the country. And now the darlings of College Football. Not to mention the most dominant freshman in the game.

No, that's nothing to feel positive about even though, just 2 years ago, positing even ONE of these would have drawn long sustained laughter.

But naw, man, it don't mean nothing.

CTH handled that perfectly yesterday. Casual, yet aware.

I've been trying to find the story on that helmet, anyone know?
