Not the first time the home field plague of midges was an issue: Spoiler <iframe src='http://m.mlb.com/shared/video/embed/embed.html?content_id=20031159&topic_id=6479266&width=400&height=224&property=mlb' width='400' height='224' frameborder='0'>Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe> http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v20031159/2007-alds-gm2-midges-impact-yankees-in-the-eighth
Absolutely. Fister just sometimes struggles with his control (but 2 hit batters is a bit extreme). He's always pitching out of trouble.
Not many lakefront stadiums in South, esp next to a freshwater lake the size of lake Erie. Also, more natural 4 seasons in North Ohio probably causes more of swarm effect than the South's two seasons.
Fister has regressed back to what he truly is...rotation filler. He kept the rotation afloat at the beginning of the year for the most part but is unraveling down the stretch.
The good news is the next wave of guys coming through (Paulino and Martes) along with McCullers can bring it. It'll be nice to hopefully have a rotation with guys who can actually miss bats for once.
