I'm expecting big things from him... 55 or so catches 700 or so yards.

There will be some drops and some growing pains but he is talented and from all indications willing to put in the work to get better.

One reason Fuller's drops are so magnified IS BECAUSE he can get so open over the top. Its more impactful seeing a missed scoring chance than a first down. Saying "Damn that coulda been a first down!" and "F**K that was A TD!!!" is 2 different things.

No kinda drop is good, they both kill drives and spirits. But its saying at least Fuller even presents that CHANCE of a home-run score when most cant. Despite his high "K" rate and middling OBP, perhaps his overall "slugging" and OPS still makes him a positive player, and he can work on the weaknesses.

OPS is a reflection of OBP too, however... so probably not the best analogy. He is a HR hitter though... and HR hitters with a semblance of an eye tend to draw walks (which keeps their OBP and OPS good, despite K's). In a similar fashion, Fuller's deep threat will open up the underneath routes for Hopkins/Miller, which can still help this offense be very productive.

Is there any context associated with his alleged drops? Is it usually in traffic? Is it usually on certain routes (slants vs. seams vs. posts vs. crossing vs. outs). Does he have a tendency to drop (or not drop) balls in the red zone vs. everywhere else?

There's a lot of analytical data one could do to really determine the extent of the "problem"... perhaps they did it already. Or perhaps they just threw up their hands in bewilderment because... small hands.

    12 man league.

I have Crabtree and Will Fuller on the bench.

The homer in me after watching preseason is that Fuller will be making some big plays on Sunday.

He hasn't had trouble running by coverage in TC, TC Joint Practices, or preseason games.

    hmmmm.

    I have the same issue.

Who to start between Fuller, T. Benjamin, J.Brown, or Terrance West for my flex.

The homer in me is edging towards Fuller.

Fuller ran by a probowler in Brethel 3 times the other night.

He also had a butt load of touchdowns in college. Ugh.

    Fuller it is.

    Dammit.

I like Brown too, but I already have David Johnson in my lineup and Brown is still making his way back from a concussion along with being the 3rd option.

Maybe I'm overthinking it. Also, if Fuller goes off from my bench, it's still a win for me as a fan.

    Decisions.

If there is ever a game to take a flier on Fuller, its against the Bears. I can also see O'Brien being like "lets show the fans what we got" and just bombing it to Fuller on the first play for a 75 yd td.

They already accomplished that during the preseason. If the bears are as bad as we think and the Texans are up big then we are not going to see a whole bunch of long bombs.

Tricky call. There usually isn't a lot of rushing yards against the Patriots but there might be if Jimmy G is awful. Hopefully you have other WRs that will give you more points. Brown is pretty much the Cardinals more experienced version of Fuller with a better QB; Fitz and Floyd can't get down the field like Brown can and will.

Yeah, I have TY and Jarvis Landry as my other two.

I'll probably end up switching it back and forth 30 times up until Saturday night, then drink a lot and wake up to find out whoever I landed on right at gametime.

    Should be fun.

I know this has been said before, but I've been rewatching the pre-season and it's amazing how good Fuller is at beating press coverage. He's good at fighting off the CB's hands, and if you miss him he's gone. His speed is such a game changer. It's hard to think about this offense and not get excited.

Also, because those catches with his body dont really count as catches...so they're closer to drops than catches.

Interesting prediction...so you really think we're going to get a touchback on the kick off?

The CB is almost better off giving him a 12-15 yard cushion at the LOS (leaving him open for a quick pass for 5-8 yards) than trying to press him. If he beats the press, it's over. No way the CB can recover and catch up.

I have Jarvis too. He does have a tough matchup going against Sherman but the Dolphins don't have anybody else to throw it to. I'm willing to take that L in week 1 and watch the waiver wire like a hawk. It's hard to tell who's going to have a good year.
