I like retro if it's simplistic and arcade-y, like Battlefield 1943. But this is complex and intricate and very "sim" (it even takes like 3 seconds of animation to get into a vehicle). So... if you're going to give me something that feels so authentic I prefer it be modern, because I miss the fun gadgets and vehicles.

It's been a LONG time since BF4. Hardline was awful and I'm not sure this game will satisfy my craving either.

Kind of a bummer... I'll see how the retail game feels before final verdict.

I miss SOCOM, Timesplitters and 007 FPSs.

Agreed. No greater feeling in video games than being the last one alive in SOCOM and pulling off the win. I doubt kids today would have the patience to play a game like that anymore. They need to remaster part II.

    007 was a fun series.

My favorite FPS is Squad. It keeps most of the kiddos out, because it's more realistic than a cod game. Also, the communication and team work is great.

I'm liking BF1. I want to play some different levels, with more cover from vehicles etc. But the more I play it the more I like the mechanics etc. Feels way different than say BF4, but I like it.

I'll check that out. Always looking for a good new FPS that stays away from the super nerds and the kids alike. SOCOM was basically all old men and it was such a laid back cool atmosphere.

Haven't been this excited for a shooter in a long time... I'm so over all the futuristic warfare crap that has been made lately... And I've been dying for a world war 1 game for a long time and to top it all off its battlefield which is amazing already.

Anybody picked up the early release version yet? My only hold up on this game was that I didn't care for the beta map but from what I've heard so far it's one of the worst maps on the game so I'll probably pick it up Friday.

My order has shipped from Best Buy. I already received the preorder digital code. I think it's for skins or something.

Anyone else love using mortars to take out campers and snipers as much as I do? Very satisfying...

I dunno about that yet, that game was brilliant - but so far I love it....I may have to adjust my settings some as running it at 1920x whatever is making it hard to see enemies, my old eyes need bigger targets.

I think BC2 was one of the best, but if you've liked any Battlefield, you'll probably like this one, too.

I would say they were OP if not for the fact that snipers aren't OP as well. So in a way the two cancel each other out.
