UH will have to beat up on easy schedule and win against Louisville. I don't even think it will take Oklahoma performing well either. That FSU win last year is playing a factor this year. UT's ranking is ridiculous.
#7 in the Coaches Poll, which is really the only one that matters at this point. The AP poll is nice and all but doesn't carry the weight since it's not used for anything regarding the playoffs. Moving Texas, coming from a fan, to #11 is ridiculous. Coaches have them at #20 which is more right...
I find it pretty ridiculous that SMU is actually in the running for the Big 12. What universe is this? Congrats Coogs, y'all will be #3 by season's end. Just don't beat us too badly en route to that ranking. UT though... very very surprised.
Good for Texas, better if they're ranked higher it'll make the OU victory look better if the Sooners pull that off. On to Lamar. That UConn loss was a good thing last year, keeps the guys focused.
Yep, gotta stay focused. Especially with ESPN giving us 99.1% chance to win and Lamar 0.9%....glad at least big Ed said there's still work to be done and declined to comment because he "hasn't earned it", shows that he's focused and mature and not showing off like i'm 5 star and owned these boys (which he did)
Didn't see these posted. Couple of good reads about the game and the team: http://www.campusrush.com/houston-cougars-football-beat-okalahoma-upset-1998298989.html http://www.campusrush.com/houston-cougars-football-behind-scenes-1998362202.html
Not only is Big Ed a five star recruit, but he's in the upper echelon of THOSE guys. Barring major injury, our 18 year old Manchild has a very good chance of becoming a #1 or #2 pick. And before that, he's going to help lead the Cougars into high cotton....again.
Ed was a four star recruit for sometime his senior season before finally being bumped back up to five stars. Honestly it doesn't matter whether he was four or five star prospect, he is a very good player. There is a belief that the Cougars have some how magically come together and exceeded their talent level. The reality is that the Cougars have a whole lot of talented player, and players that fit their system very well.
Belated props to the Coogs! Just awesome to watch. Hoping you guys are in the Big 12 soon. The conference is terrible imo but adding the Coogs makes me a happy camper.
Nice to see a few fans like you on the positive side for the Coogs from other schools. It would be so much more interesting if giant like Texas would come to the 4th largest city for a game every other year against a Coog team that is relevant. Have all the friends, families, and co-workers giving each other grief. UH has had to build this case while playing teams that have very little interest around here like UCF, UConn and Temple.
#6! Even Dunbar, although his height and weight haven't changed, just makes this team look big and bad compared to when Ayers was out there. This team is man tough. Imposing our will.
