This is like a poker tournament to me. Earlier when the Astros had a larger chip stack, the smart play would be to take that deal. The Astros stack is small and need a little luck. Even though odds are tough they win more than 7, they need to do it to play out as the blinds are too big to wait for a better chance for winning streak.

I'll even take 6-7. Because there is no way, the royals + indians are going to give detroit easy wins. the same goes for the orioles with toronto, red sox, yanks and even the rays won't back down. It's going to be a grind for errrbody.

 

Twins and Braves 10 times while both teams may start trying to lose. Royals are basically the same as the Mariners. Someone has to win between Orioles and Tigers. Indians are only games that favor Astros.

Plus, I want to watch the Astros beat the Rangers to fight their way into the playoffs.

The natural pessimist in me says we will go 5-8 over the next 13. But, I am wrong more than I am right when it comes to predictions :grin:

Yes. I said 4-2 on this last homestand, which they exceeded, and then somehow grinding out 7-6 over these next 13 to stay in he wild card hunt. This stretch of games will make or break the season.
