So, your complaint is not with who (Kaepernick), or what he did (not stand for the Anthem) or even how, but your complaint is when he did it (while at work)?

Note the Forty Niner organization did not have an issue with what he did or when he did it:

Protesting isn't exactly about following rules though and he had to know the risks when he did it.

Nobody has named me personally, true enough and for good reason.

But you don't have to tell me it's ****ed when a cop wrongfully murders someone. I'm already there. I'm with you. But to lump me in with that group or to call me an enemy because I don't personally believe in the methods or results of BLM? You lost me. I'm not an enemy. You made me an enemy. WHY? We believe in similar things, as far as I know....

I'm not trying to say dismiss it. Never forget. I'm saying the past is the past and the only way it's going to die is to let it die. I'm saying quit MAKING me an enemy because of my skin color. Quit broadbrushing me with evil men because I got a dick hanging off the front of me. Quit assuming I won't pray with you because I grew up Christian. Don't think I'm holding the door open for you so that you'll **** me, I'm just doing it because my mom demanded it of me my entire childhood.

    I'm frustrated too!

Do you think the team would have received more "positive views" by standing behind an unpopular player with declining skills or by taking a stand supporting the country's national anthem?

Since its not the first time Kaepernick sat during the national anthem, I'd be inclined to believe the team didn't have a big issue with it... but sure, believe what you want.

I've often wondered what to do as well since as a simple man without a platform, my opinion means almost nothing in the grand scheme of things. All I can do is share with my little circle of the world that racism isn't OK. I wasn't raised to believe minorities were "less" than me. I'm not going to continue to perpetuate that to my children, nor to anyone I interact with.

As for the minority interaction with police, better training of new officers is a good place to start. White people get the benefit of the doubt more often than minorities. That's the problem that needs to be fixed. Solve that, and a whole lot of racial tension goes away. I mean, do minorities have an issue when shopping for groceries??(never saw much said on that)

It's more likely the 49ers are giving the least controversial stance on the issue. I guarantee you that the 49ers don't want the media circus that a bench player has caused.

I agree on both points. It was still a stupid and disrespectful thing to do.

I think what he did was disrespectful and inappropriate.

Actually, I'm off this week. Even if I weren't, where I work is anonymous on this board. My company would in no way shape or form be associated with the opinion of someone with the internet handle of Granville. I'm not taking a public stand unless you think my legal name is Granville.

Lemme guess.... your next door neighbor's cousin is Granville Waiters and I offended you on their behalf with my anti-Kapernick sentiments.

Hmmmm there seem to be a few vets that don't find it disrespectful.

    Reading my mind here!
I've never received that benefit but I'm not saying it doesn't exist somewhere. Personally, I've been hung out to dry 100% of the time I've had a cops attention. So, you know....

As far as training goes, yeah, it's quite clear a higher standard could benefit everyone. EVERYONE. Believe it because it's true. Sure, it would be great if the added benefit was less racial tension, less divisiveness in all communities.

So we can all agree on that until the wheels of time fall off but...what else can I do about it? I'm not a cop, nor do I want to be. I do not have a position of power to make that call, nor will I ever. All I got is my little circle and seemingly everyone's scorn.

You can always find a token if you look hard enough. You could also find #VeteransForCrystalMeth....doesn't mean it's a good thing.

Once you've resorted to quoting bigtexxx, you've lost your argument.

Truthfully, I think the team itself has been spared of many negative views. The disdain is focused almost solely on Kaepernick, and the team will eventually quietly cut him without any evidence that his political stand had anything to do with it.

However, if the organization did take a stand you'd have the SJW out in full force, blasting away on social media. The articles would be about the 49ers organization's decision and not Kapernick's.

So yes, I think the team made the decision that spared them the most negative coverage (i.e., the decision that avoids triggering the very vocal and illogical SJWs).

To me? No. Then again I'm a vet myself so just because you found a fringe group of vets doesn't impress me much. I personally know vets who think all sorts of stupid things. That said, the majority of vets are against Kaepernick being a douchebag, does that matter to you, or just the few that agree with you?
