Man, what a crazy season leading up to the what could be one wild September for many teams. I'm just proud of how this team fought back and never gave in to slumps. They are so much fun to watch night in and night out. Obviously the schedule is going to be brutal, but this team... could certainly click. I mean, Incant say enough about our 1-4 hitters. Then you add Gattis who has been playing terrific, Guriel who I think will be big down the stretch, and then you have good ol' Colby. If that guy gets hot, this line up is just down right scary. The pitching is a little concerning, I still get extremely nervous when it's Collin's or Fiers time to take the ball, and you have an unproven guy like Musgrove who seems to be hit or miss right now. Either filthy, or just doesn't have it. The fact that we are doing all this with out our best pitcher in LMJ is impressive. Time to sit back... And enjoy some MEANINGFUL September baseball two years in a row! Time to break this stupid curse. Time to go into Arlington and show the league we aren't to be taken lightly.
yesterday, charlie p did three consecutive hours of beisbol talk and loved every second of it. same can't be said about the other dorks who just read the box score. September here we come! hope rasmus can get hot.
Yes, the crab kid was right on Devenski. Don't know that it was tongue in cheek though, never verifed that it was true. He advocated for Devenski a lot and then you pulled that stat.
I've always liked Devenski. I was just yanking his chain because they really were 1-14 at the time whenever he had pitched (not due to Devenski). But he was so wrong on Sipp that it outweighs any of his 'rightness'.
Well he kind of flip flopped depending on the day. Bad memories all around. Ha I just remembered that Devenski post because I've been impressed with him since he showed up, no fear to throw strikes and work quickly unlike a lot of pitchers who come up from the minors.
Yep. And he has been consistently good. Seemingly the only pitcher that has been reliable the entire season. All because they brought him up from AA to pitch the AAA championship game last year.
Rangers decide to go off schedule and give an extra days rest. That means they won't start Hammels against the Astros
It should be Fulmer. That said, Devenski has been one of the three best rookies in the AL as far as production goes this season. He's likely to end up with 100 innings of less than 2.5 ERA. I'm guessing 3-7 guys do that a year with two of them getting Cy Youngs. He's having a very unusual year.
It was about 4% before August of last year (bottom 20%). Since then, he's been about 8% or about league average (slightly below average for a DH).
