Left: Me Before observing Latinos get into fist fights on the beach and at football games.
Right: Me after observing Latinos get into fist fights on the beach and at football games.

San Diego is one of my favorite cities in the country. With the weather and scenery, it's just a great place to be outside.

It doesn't have the sprawl or traffic of other big cities. Everything seems within reasonable driving difference. I think maybe the difference is many people see the "lack of urgency" as a good thing.

It's no DC and I love DC (for short periods at a time).

So you are there for VACATION and you want people who act stressed out?

It wasn't a vacation it was for a party and followed by a job interview after the initial post. I was judging it as a place to live not visit. It's a great place for tourists, kind of like Orlando but a lot better.

I got the job but I am not taking it (much to my wife's disappointment).

Dude, is it a better job for your career?

you don't judge the job because hot chicks don't make eye contact on the beach

if the company was great you should have taken the job, you have to think long term.

It would be a lateral move for a little less pay. The culture was laid back and it was very in step with how I felt about the city as a whole.

Talking to a friend about it, he thinks I just am not a Californian (he is) so it's just culture shock.

It wasn't about staring at girls, it was the overall lack of hustle and bustle. I didn't read the full article. I like cities where it feels like people are changing the world.

Love living in San Diego, but damn I miss Tex-Mex. $2.60 a gallon sounds like a steal for gas.

Haha. A friend is moving there next summer and she loves Jackson because it is not changing the world. Apparently great for families.

Well maybe you don't want change in your current lifestyle.
I wouldn't blanket that as saying San Diego sucks.
It's not like it's Beaumont or Lake Charles.

True. I was just being melodramatic. I really really wanted to like it and move there before seeing it first hand.
