I hope this mini-camp will not be a disaster like last year. I'm glad that Harden is organizing it though.
last year they did the same thing, i don't think those camp would do much, only thing is that players get to meet with each other and know a little bit of each other, especially on court habits and tendencies, without a coach, they will just freelance all game, definitely not good for them to form good on court defensive and offensive habits, might strengthen their bad habits like no attention to detail on defense and etc
I remember being amped when I heard about Harden doing this last off-season. Then the season happened. I'm not very excited this year. In fact, I'm not so sure we shouldn't just do the opposite of what we did last year. Besides, James came into training camp out of shape despite his mini-camp so what's the point?
Someone should really point out that this was done last year. Feels like that point's getting lost in the shuffle.
I have to say this: I really don't think last year was bad enough to justify the level of angst that's been expressed on the board this offseason. Some of you need to get a grip.
