Yup, Nene can no longer run the forward spot, just like Beez can't run the SF spot. The league has changed far too much to go big in such ways.

It bothers me that there is absolutely no news or media buzz about this situation. Dmo is the best fa left. I remember with TT, Bledsoe, Monroe etc there were many media reports, articles and discussions about it but now complete silence?

Our pace will be so quick it won't matter and if he has not lost a step he can gaurd most PF. I have not seen him play in a few seasons.

I'm not sure why people are surprised about where we are with DMo. His trade was rescinded just a few months ago for health reasons (back) and has a history of health issues. The only way you get a RFA is to overpay and who is going to overpay for that?

If yall remember back in 2014, Eric Bledsoe didn't sign his contract until September 24th and got a 5 year 70 million dollar deal which ended up being the largest contract of any RFA that year. Bledsoe had his injury concerns as well at the time so people thought he was crazy but he got what he wanted in the end. I have a feeling this is going to repeat or something close.

Bledsoe was one of the biggest names that year. Most people make the comparison to Landry. He's definitely the better comparison. He too did not get any offers and was forced to sign late in Sept for a lowball deal...I think partial MLE right?

I would do this if they took on Brewer and Ariza/Bev/Clint were untouched.

Take any combo of Dmo, KJ, Dekker, Harrell, Beas, Onuaku, and rights to whomever.

Nothing new there. Chandler and Bledsoe have been linked to the Rockets for awhile....

Landry eventually got a offer from Charlotte that we matched.

DMo has not really proven himself in the league amd his injury history doesn't help his case. There is a reason other teams are not beating down his door. We should not overpay for him at this point. Potential is still there for him but, how long can you keep waiting for consistency? He is just a good role player tops.

Oh, my bad. But he did in fact sign for well under the MLE...He signed for $3m/yr and the MLE was $5.585 million in 2008. That's why we all thought he caved to DM's low-balling. Now as I think about it, I recall him having to sign that with Charlotte just to prove someone wanted him for that much. Not sure why Charlotte bothered, as we were surely going to match $3m (hell, it even had a team option for the 3rd year).

True. It's an old rumor that has recently resurfaced.

Both false and true. It is a low probability event that has yet to be observed.
