I'm pretty sure Peacock will get called up as well if McCullers isn't able to jump back into the rotation. Somewhat inexplicably he's still on the the 40. With Feldman gone, McCullers status in the air, and Musgrove likely near an innings limits shutdown, it only leaves us with 4 starters. Devo would probably slide in if McCullers isn't available, and that would leave us without a mop up long man.
All the pitchers on the 40 man will be called up. I think Rodgers may also be added. White, Tucker, and Stassi will also be called up. Singleton, Fontana, Moran, and Aplin will be the only guys on the 40 man not called up.
I think Musgrove should have at least 4-5 starts left, unless they decide his recent couple of outings are due to fatigue or something. Given the # of games left, I'd imagine he'll finish out the season. Especially given that he likely wouldn't start in the postseason given his inconsistency so far and age/experience.

Do the Astros need to make a corresponding move to the 40-man roster in order to add Brady Rodgers? Or did they already have an open spot?

I don't get why you don't call up a guy like Aplin or even Fontana. Both should be good late game defensive replacements or as a pinch runner in Aplin's case.

Hell, why not just have every team call up everybody on the 40 man roster come September? I'm sure there's just some inherent costs issues that limit the amount of total callups any team has.
