Don't worry he'll give up three runs in the outfield.

Heard the same thing. Just an idiotic statement. He was never expected to carry the offense here. If anything, Gomez was his own worst enemy. Maybe his own expectations as a result of the trade were too much for himself. The Rangers self love is terrible. They act like they've actually won something.

doesnt look different, but maybe there's a minute detail that isn't shown well on the video. if so, and if gomez thrives, houston hitting coach needs to be fired ASAP.

2nd part is kinda true though. We really counted on him for his bat here and he just couldn't live up to it. He has less pressure over there and only has to be marginally better than DeShields which really isn't asking for much. But yeah, it's just one at-bat...let's see how the rest of his stint plays out. The reactions here are going to be priceless if he owns us in our upcoming series with them

They are saying that Carlos Beltran has been a mentor for Gomez since they were with the Mets. Maybe it help him

Oh, DFW media definitely believes that. DFW radio was bashing the Astros clubhouse & 'culture' the other day. No veteran presence, bunch of young guys, you were asking Gomez to be that 'leader' but he isn't that kind of guy, he was pressing & trying too hard, doesn't have to be the guy in Texas, he can just fit in, if he tries to pull any 'acts', Rangers vets will stop it immediately, [Astros] not regarded as a good club for Latin players while the Rangers are; why do players want to play for Texas & not Houston? Players, front office, the manager, committed to winning/spending...

...on and on and on. Basically said the Rangers are 'everything the Astros aren't.'

He's holding the bat higher. Standing more upright prior to the crouch. Video didn't capture it. Just a different sequence to his stance. It was minute... Obviously he had to change something.

Nobody goes from as good as he was to as bad as he was without either severe injury or age issues.

The only broadcasters in MLB worse than Houston/Ashby are the Dallas guys.

As a type 1 (juvenile) diabetic, thats incredibly ****ed up to say.

I don't expect people to know the differences between type 1 and type 2
type 1 is an autoimmune disease where the pancreas is attacked, and cells therein completely fail to produce any insulin...type 2 is generally brought on by weight or age, and the pancreas still produces insulin, but not enough because of age, weight, etc.
, but I do expect people to realize that type 1 is a debilitating disorder even if there are no immediate outward manifestations. You may hope Gomez gets diabetes, but I pray (and you should be thankful DAILY) that you never have to deal with a high (or low) blood sugar episode and its effects.

The Mets found an easily correctable flaw in Richard Hidalgo's swing.

Gomez only had to out-hit Marisnisk....... DeShields > Jake

If Gomez has .700+ OPS, consider Houston curse. The fact DAL is benefitting just piling on.
