To do something about healthcare in order to save money long term? Do you think all those uninsured folks in Texas aren't costing the state money? Fiscal conservatism my muscular butt. But yes... I completely understand why the GOP decided to do nothing... If Obama says the sky is "blue"... they gotta say it's "green". We will never know because the GOP decided to keep their mouth shut. I asked you earlier and you deflected... But what is so anti-conservative about ACA that it can't even be the starting the point? Seems silly since Romney with his Romneycare was the 2012 Republican nominee. No. The accurate representation is that the GOP choose not to put anything forth and decided to play politics instead of doing something.
Texas GOP should ask the Vice Presidential Republican nominee about expanding Medicaid instead of cutting off its nose to spite its face. Silly ole' lying Cruz and Wheels (Wheels and the Leg man?)
Universal healthcare was a huge issue during the 2008 election. Obama's proposal that he ran on was essentially Obamacare with a public option.
If I'm a democrat, I am trying to get rid of Obamacare as soon as possible and as quiet as possible. It only gets worse form here on out. They should be trying to get rid of it but calling it something else like 'fixing it'.
Yeah but that's not what Obamacare is doing. It's just spending money while not giving people access to more or better healthcare on average. So....it's just spending money to spend money.
I think that's what they'll try to do. They'll blame the problems with Obamacare on Republicans (who had nothing to do with it) and they'll say they are trying to "fix" it while ushering in something worse and more costly.
Lol... Yes that's how it turned out. Now why did it turn out like that.....? I guess you have the tea party view and I have the results oriented view. Your constant deflection has been noted silly child.
Well Texas wouldn't have the highest rate of unissued if we had a Medicaid expansion. Hell, the Obama adminstrstion even allows you to submit your own Medicaid expansion plan. You seem to embarrassingly unaware the lengths Republcians have gone to make ACA as burdensome as possible.... It's laughable. So yes.... Republcians will rightly get blamed due to their incompetence and sabotage. They only try repeal ACA because they knew they can't and it makes it appear to the rubes that they are doing something. In reality, the GOP do not want to repeal ACA.
Because it was poorly constructed legislation that was ALWAYS going to turn out this way. I mean, opponents of the bill said AT THE TIME that it was going to turn out this way and they were 100% right. All the president cared about was getting something passed and he didn't care if it was worth a damn or not.
And yet Texas is having less problems when it comes to the cost of premiums skyrocketing than places like California and New York who did all they could to make Obamacare work as well as possible.....so, that kind of kills your theory.
You do realize that someone who has insurance that they can't afford to use is no better off than someone who is uninsured right? In fact, in some ways they are worse off paying premiums for something they can't afford to use rather than paying nothing and using that money they would have spent to seek actual medical treatment.
Lol.... The burden of insured in Texas is magically disappearing....? Lol. Come on bro.... Think... Use your brain.
That's why Medicaid expansion was a part of ACA.... Hav you asked the Republican vice presidential nominee how he expanded Medicaid in his state.... It seems he came actually came up with an alternative.... And get the Obama adminstrstion to approve it.... Crazy.... How things can work out when you want them to....
So the massive expansion of medicaid has led to 7% less uninsured people in California for "only" something like 18 billion dollars in new government spending.....is that REALLY worth it? Also consider that Californians are facing a 13% increase in their premiums for 2017 and tell me that things are working well. Think....use your brain.
Seems to me the name of the program is Affordable Care Act (ACA), or if you want an even longer name, its the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPAACA). What plan have you been talking about?.
And do you think those folks (7% of 38 million isn't insignificant) are the healthy folks? Rates are rising less in NY and California compared to their rural state counterparts. Rates will continue to rise until we reach an "equilibrium". My complaint with Obama is that he oversold how much this would cost.
You yet again fail to understand that people that technically have insurance aren't better off than those who are uninsured if they can't afford to use it. That 7% is not going to get healthier now that they have insurance and they'll still end up in the ER and they'll still end up not able to pay for anything.....and you still have 10% of the state uninsured.
