And without Hopper, the creature may never have been killed and Will is still in the upside down because that one guy at the bar doesn't spill who hired him to "find" the body in the water.

He volunteered to go into the upside down world, which is why they they didn't kill him since they felt he wouldn't make it out. I think.

Hes too important of a person to go missing, it would cause bigger people to look for him, jeopardizing the lab.

Finally had time this summer to join in. Not sure if it's because I grew up in the 80's but WOW!!!, this show is amazing!!!

Also, since when did child actors get so good?!?! The really did outshine their adult counterparts the entire series.

Can someone please explain to me why...

...they went through all that trouble to trap the monster in the perfect spot to ignite the lighter fluid and set it on fire, then 3 seconds later use a freaking fire extinguisher? Why not let the sucker burn?

    And...

... why did ancillary characters get more spectacular deaths than the main villain of the show (Dr. Brenner)? I liked the show as a whole, but aspects of the last episode really pissed me off.

Also, I thought Toothless and Lucas were, hands down, the best actors on the show (adult or child).

    for your second question
Because Brenner might not be dead....I only know because they have talked about him being around next season.

I loved it. I still find myself getting a bit disappointed when I realize there are no more episodes for me to watch.

    They did a terrific job.

The episodes, characters, shot composition were frequently referencing 80's class cinema, but it wasn't done in super meta type way. It all fit in naturally with the story, yet it was obvious they were still paying tribute.

That is an incredibly challenging thing to pull off and they did it to perfection.

If you'd never seen ET, The Thing, Goonies, etc. you could still fully enjoy the series. Yet if you are familiar with all of those things the the tip of the hat is there, and can add to the enjoyment. But the makers of the series weren't saying overtly "Hey everyone! Look what were doing... See how this is exactly like ET. Aren't we clever for doing it?"

They just fit the stuff into the interesting plot, and made it seamless.

The child actors were fantastic. I'd like to see more by them.

I actually really do miss the show.

They've already said they'll talk about Barb at the beginning of Season 2. The reasoning behind not doing it initially was the first season only took place over the course of a week. With that said, them glossing over Barb's disappearance was one of my complaints about the first season. Great show though, looking forward to more bingeness.
