Ok these jerks with the musical montages have taken it TOO FAR!! Spoiler BETA BAND MFER'S CROSSED THE LINE!!!
that was the best episode of either TWD ever what it always should have been, cut out the emo stuff and make it a pure survival story
I was wrestling with an Android problem with one of my tablets and admittedly didn't focus on the episode so I will re-watch before I make too many comments, but what I did see seemed odd how it was laid out... seemed to jump into a new storyline focused on Nick, and since I wasn't concentrating it seemed to bounce around to settings and people I didn't know (except flash backs with the blonde girl he was with in the series premiere?). I'd rather focus on Alicia, Madison, or Afelia...
Agreed! Plus, Nick is a great character who's acting is natural, rather than the others who seem forced.
Didn't care for it. 1. Why wouldn't you yank the bat from the crazy lady, smack her upside the head, take your bag, drop the bat on the way out and be like "peace crazy lady"? 2. Why wouldn't you drop to the ground like you were shot when the 3 Mexicans where shooting at the herd? 3. Why did the 2 Mexicans not try walking backwards, I don't know, trying moving away from the slow walking herd instead of standing there and getting eaten. Good grief.
Agree on all 3, had the same thoughts. And in general, didn't like the episode at all. Unlike TWD, Fear doesn't have the credibility for me to assume this is part of a story build-up. It was just slow and annoying...really didn't care for the flashbacks to his dad-issues and rehab gf. I liked some of the survival stuff with him and the cactus and whatnot, but that's not a whole episode. Get back to the stuff that made this very different from TWD--specifically, the way the military was taking over but then getting run over. I'd like to see how society-at-large is reacting again instead of just another group dynamic.
I agree. I wished more time would have been spent on the early days and transitioning into a zombie world. It seemed like they semi rushed through all of that and now we are just watching the same survival show as the walking dead, but not as good.
Well, I don't know if my expectations went in the trash can or what.. and I also took a break after the first episode of the 2nd half. But I caught up on the next 3, and I've actually enjoyed it. It's a little repetitive in many ways (compared to TWD), but I at least have some interest in the storyline and outcome right now, and have been compelled to watch each following episode (again, after the 1st one). Still not particularly interested in the storyline with kid and his dad on their own. The kid is crazy and one of them will die soon.
Ive been watching it and I think its been pretty good. Far from realistic but still good entertainment.
I think I only like Strand, the silly drug kid because he'll make a mistake and get in trouble, and then the psycho kid because it'll all go downhill with the dad. Hopefully characters don't stick around as long as they do on TWD...
FTWD only took one season for it to be almost exactly like the TWD. I don't know why they didn't focus on the virus turning people in to Zombies and the fall of civilization more. There are plenty of story lines you could mine from that IMO. They rushed into the survive, move, find a home, repeat of TWD. These two shows are essentially the same shows with different people.
